Child pornography conviction
On September 20, 2007,Bernie Ward was indicted by a grand jury on two federal counts of Attempting to Distribute and one count of Receiving child pornography via the internet from December 2004 to January 2005.
The police investigation of Ward originated with a complaint from a Stanislaus County homemaker who was posing online as a dominatrix under the screen name "Sexfairy2005" and who had engaged in online chats with Ward According to the police report, Ward sent pornographic images of children to the chat partner, which caused her to contact police. The police began collecting evidence with her help and continued chat sessions with Ward..
With good behavior, Ward's sentence of 87 months will be reduced by 15 percent, making him eligible for Supervised Release on December 21, 2014; there is no parole in the Federal system. When Ward is released, California's Megan's Law will require him to register as a sex offender with local law enforcement for life.
Ward is now serving his sentence at the Lompoc Low Security Federal Correctional Facility (FCI) as inmate # 90569-111.

MSNBC is probably developing a concept for a show about him. It would be their first children’s program.
Shortly after, KGO fired almost every liberal, conservative Bush basher and changed their programming to ALL NEWS 24/7.
Their ratings had tanked as low as MSNBC.
He no doubt spent little time in the General Population of that lockup...or there’d not be much left of him to release.
I noted that hes alleged to have USED his own children for his sexual needs. That should demand a far greater punishment than he received.
The likelihood of him perpetrating AGAIN are far too high to allow him to walk free.
Ward claimed later, none of the events in the chat log actually took place and he was roll playing doing research for a book he was writing.
He did distribute child porn and he did sign a confession in a plea bargan.

What were the DA and the judge “thinking”
allowing him to serve a mere ten years for child porn is an insult to every child on earth.
Not having tried him for his perping his own kids should “earn” the DA...... a sentence of far greater severity than Bernie got.
If you read the chat log, it’s sickening.
It is possible that his stated exploits were fantasy rather than reality .
KGO will probably give him his old time slot upon release.

That's a tough sentence to decipher. I think I understand what you are attempting to say, but please revisit it and tell us more clearly what KGO did. The juxtaposition of "liberal" and "conservative Bush basher" needs to be re-written.
Isn’t this just legal double-talk?
According to two successive sentences in the article:
1. His sentence can be reduced by 15% by putting him on “supervised release”.
2. Theere is no “parole” in the federal justice system.
What makes “supervised release” different from “parole”? Isn’t being paroled being released conditionally under the supervision of a parole officer?

Parole = Supervised Release
Parole = Early release for Good Behavior
His sentence wasn’t even for ten years.His 87 month original sentence is 7 1/4 years. Knock 15% off of that and he’ll serve about 6 1/2 years.
Walt Disney would would not look at all kindly on the these creeps who are doing business using his name...were he alive today.

A KGO Radio source has just confirmed the following:
Gene Burns, Gil Gross, John Rothmann and Ray Taliaferro were all let go today in a major personnel shake-up at 900 Front.
Only Ronn Owens was spared a dismissal. Owens has a “personal services” contract that runs through Jan., 2013.
