Officials have started looking into the lives of Captain Zaharie Ahmad Shah and co-pilot Fariq Abdul Hamid in the hope of finding further clues. --SNIP--

Malaysia Airlines has said it does not believe pilot Zaharie would have sabotaged the plane, and his colleagues were incredulous.

Pictures have emerged this weekend of the captain in a T-shirt with a Democracy is Dead slogan, amid fears he may have hijacked the plane as an anti-government protest.

Zaharie was a fervent supporter of his country's opposition leader who was jailed for homosexuality just hours before MH370 vanished.

But a Malaysia Airlines pilot who is close to Zaharie told Reuters. "Is it wrong for anyone to have an opinion about politics?"

"Please, let them find the aircraft first. Zaharie is not suicidal, not a political fanatic."

Investigators say they have not received any ransom or other demand.

I started reading his timeline last night. He did state things he believed at least 1-2 days before released in news. Not sure if controlled feed or not, but interesting as heck. I love twitter (and hate facebook) for people like @flyingwithfish.

Three letter agencies have fed info for as long as they have been in existence. Sometimes its disinformation.

But this could be fed to him to get info out there in a controlled manner. Info they dont want to say on the record.

Not sure why they would pick him..but maybe they have used him before or because he has a following or whatever...

Or maybe its disgruntled employees who hate the Obama regime.

For whatever reason..he appears to be getting some info that is not being released to public.

My brother flies for Fex Ex and for over 20 years was stationed in Subic Bay, Phillipines. He has flown thousand of hours over this area of the world. He said many times when flying in this area, there are so many fishing boats out on these waters, he sometimes cannot tell the difference between the stars up above and the sea of twinkling boat lights down below. If the plane had crashed anywhere near this area, someone would have seen it.

BTW, he was in the air on his way to the states from Thailand when 9/11 happened. He got the word about an hour into his flight that EVERY airport in America was closed, it was his wife's birthday and he was certain all was lost and his country was destroyed! He dumped his fuel and turned back distraught and afraid and waited for what and why.

Interesting comments. Some i agree with and have commented on re altitude changes. The data climbing and descending is clearly in error. Not unusual. Have seen anomalies of this nature before.

Disagree with him when he say to get control of the cockpit, kill the other pilot and lock the door. There are other techniques that can be used to gain control of the cockpit without killing the guy.

Not sure i agree with him when he says airplane in China. Good reasoning and logic, but all the search vessels went south.

I think while the plane could have landed on some dry lakebed, or remote airstrip, I suspect it would have needed to shadow another aircraft for a considerable distance and whoever was flying FL-370 would need to know that the plane he was shadowing was going where he also wanted to go... probably hard to do at night while flying black.

My money is still mostly on the plane being at the bottom of the ocean.

Things I don't know that may make me change my bet are what if any distress beacons (like the EPIRBs carried by ships) may have been aboard that upon breaking up on impact with the water should have automatically floated free and begun transmitting?

Any cargo that might have been of exceptional interest to nefarious groups would also worth knowing about.
