I had the synopsis list all made up a couple of hours ago, and then my computer misbehaved. I shut it down, lost the list and just now got it re-done. :-/
It’s crummy weather there! I guess there’s no barbecue if you have snow or sleet moving in. It’s been raining here. I have a chicken, but I may end up making it inside.
We’re supposed to go see a couple of friends tomorrow for leftover corned beef and cabbage. Tonight, I’m making some fried cabbage—frying up chopped bacon, onion and cabbage together. Keith is going ahead and firing up the grill in between the showers.
Yes, we use one of the full-sized broadcast spreaders. We have a hand-held one, too, that we use sometimes.
I have a new Scott’s mini spreader. Put some stuff in it today, setting 5 according to the bag. A 5k sqft bag didn’t cover my 2,500sqft lawn. Any idea what’s going on? Are these things problematic?
I’ll get Keith to answer, since he’s the one who does the weed-n-feeding. :-) Just a sec...
I have one of those spreaders. They usually work pretty good.
Outside of the setting, the pace that you walk has the most affect on how much product is delivered.
I walk sort of quickly.
Check to make sure shutter is opening and closing. Sometimes they can stick.
I think what I’m going to do is measure the amount by weight and use a low setting until it’s all done.
Hey, be honest with me, did those pork steaks blow you away or not? If they’re made right they’re almost like candy. How like did they take?

The steaks were really good. That was a great idea.
If you still have the bag of fertilizer, check the recommended settings again. Sometimes they give different application rates for lbs/sq ft.
With fertilizer, it’s always better to apply too little. You can always add more. I learned the hard way!

Oh, forgot... The pork steaks took around two hours, and they were perfect! Much better than pork chops to use a butt instead.
