Black Senior Forced to Choose: Obama or Jesus.
American Thinker ^ | March 17, 2014 | Lloyd Marcus

Posted on 03/17/2014 6:17:44 AM PDT by imardmd1

I had an extraordinary telephone conservation with my 86-year-old black dad, a lifelong Democrat and huge Obama fan. He called to ask me, "Is Obama anti-Christian?"

Dad has been a Christian pastor for over 50 years. I said, "Dad, I have been telling you about Obama's anti-Christian policies for the past five years." Dad replied, "And I have not been listening."

Dad confessed that he simply could not bring himself to go against a black man in the White House. I felt that dad was expressing the sentiments of many blacks of his era. I asked him to explain why he could not honestly assess our black president.

Dad became passionate. He said it was because of deep, deep scars he suffered at the hands of white people. Dad said, "I don't hate white people, but my scars run very deep – calling me a n***** and rubbing my head for luck."

< snip >

. . . I felt emboldened to challenge Dad regarding this sensitive issue. I said, "Dad, once you know the truth about Obama, which loyalty will reign supreme? Will it be your loyalty to a fellow black man or your commitment to Jesus Christ?"

Dad chuckled and replied without hesitation, "It will be to Jesus Christ."

Those same blacks have chosen the ‘black man in the White House’ instead of the United States of America too.

Racist to the core... they’d rather see the destruction of our country than go against a ‘black man in the White House’.

They are blind to anything but his color. And we’re the ones who are racist.

Personally, I’d vote for Clarence Thomas any day. Would they? Is it ANY black man? or is it THIS black man? Does their black man have to have this kind of thinking to be ‘revered’?

It’s never made any sense to me why obama is worthy of their allegiance. He makes them look bad. Do they realize this? To get a man in that position to revere... who isn’t worth the platform they have him on. Where has it gotten them, but living off the government. It hasn’t furthered them up the ladder of success.

Just doesn’t make any sense.

"I grew up in the south and never have I heard of rubbing a black person’s head for luck..."

I remember a sermon preached to a bunch of Militia officers, in it he mentioned being stationed at the Naval Ammunition dept outside of Charleston in the early 60's, he mentioned seeing other Marines, rub the head of a black for luck. The sermon dealt with how we were and were not to treat our men in times of CallUp.

I doubt someone who advocated tying someone’s hands behind their back and placing an old tire around their neck filled with gasoline and lighting it constitutes qualification for sainthood.

Rubbing a black person’s head for luck? I’ve never heard of that practice before.

The current price of a sad past.

Sadly, very true. Unfortunately, I don't think most Black "chrstians" will confront this conundrum at all.

What amazes me is that people see Obama as an American "black man".

When I look at him, I see his 1960's hippie, America Hating white mother and his grandfather with a best friend Chicago black (Frank Marshall Davis) who was/is a card carrying Communist.

Evidently, all many blacks see is skin pigment.

While I hear what the good pastor is saying--he doesn't hate white people; I also hear that he isn't forgetting or forgiving, either.

Good old politics of victimization is alive and flourishing.

“Just doesn’t make any sense.”

Sure it does. Most are racist. This is their big chance to stick it to the white man.

In my opinion, and I’m more of a layperson than a theological expert, the anti-Christ will not be an outwardly evil person. He may be kindly, warm, and friendly. But he will stand in opposition to Christ’s message. He will serve to negate Christ and deliver men away from Christ. He’ll speak a secular message designed to fool people into a false salvation.

If a crook walks up to you wearing a mask and holding a gun you’ll resist but if he wears a suit and a smile he’ll pick your pocket clean.

That’s why I think some people focus on the secular message of Jesus and ignore the spiritual teachings. They want the motion of salvation of which they won’t receive. If deeds alone...

That sounds like my father in Detroit, except his epiphany has yet to happen. As far as my dad is concerned, race relations in America are the same as during the Eisenhouer administration.

I want to ask you something. Even if race relations were as bad as they were during Eisenhower's administration, how can he go along with homosexual fanaticism and the left's ridicule of what is supposed to be his own religion? Why do race relations trump every other consideration?

I'm asking this honestly. And btw, my ancestors were Southern Unionists who have been Republican since Lincoln.

QUOTE: MLK has be raised to sainthood just like Mandela.

I read his semi-autobiography recently, as it was pieced together from his letters, notes and public utterances, with minimal commentary by the author. While I admire him in some respects, he was not a Christian, in that he rejected the bodily resurrection of Christ. His was a liberal interpretation of the scriptures to the full, also denying the virgin birth and deity of Christ.

It is revenge, isn’t it!! To destroy the “white man’s country’ and the ‘Uncle Tom’s’ country .... but they will have nothing left and they can’t look beyond their own hate.

Didn’t Martin Luther King sing “we shall overcome”? This is not overcoming.. this is annihilation.

Besides your changing the articulate MLK into a jive talker, what's your proof of that ? Or did you just pull it from your nether regions ?

Martin Luther King Jr. was a man of the Left through and through. The only reason he wasn't into "gay rights" or the PLO was that in his day those hadn't yet caught on with the American Left.

He wasn't even an orthodox chrstian. He was a disciple of liberal German higher criticism and rejected all the orthodox dogmas in favor of religion as a utilitarian inspiration for a purely secular concept of justice. His own words are available online to prove this.

Idolatry is a huge issue in the Black community, as well as in the Jewish community.

Blacks, even many godly Christian Black men, seem to feel that their undying allegiance and loyalty is to another Black person — no matter what — at the expense of the Lordship of Jesus.

Similarly, Jewish people hold their cultish liberal political views in complete idolatry over the Savior.

Other people use other means to put their trust and hope in things a belief system rather than in Christ.

I salute Lloyd and his father for coming to the cross in this manner. It is an example to all of us.

IF his accounting of his lineage is accurate, he is seven eighths white anyway. Unless you count the 3/8 Arab as nonwhite, that is.

Obviously. Any Black who puts his religion ahead of his skin color is reviled as an "uncle tom." And have you heard any American Black support for Nigeria, Uganda, Angola, or the Central African Republic in their war against homosexuality and/or islam? And Black "leaders" have been apologizing for the islamic war on Blacks in the South Sudan for thirty years or more.

Marcus got the answer that he wanted from his dad. But will his dad continue to support Obama no matter what like nearly 100% of blacks in this country?
