WUWT ^ | 3/17/2014 | Anthony Watts

Posted on 03/17/2014 8:01:54 PM PDT by Signalman

Another massive cold wave headed for Eastern US next week to put temperature 20 degrees below normal

Senior WeatherBell Meteorologist Joe Bastardi commented:

I am 58.. never seen anything close to this for late March.

and

[The] pattern next week has as much extreme potential for the time of the year as I can find. Coldest opening to calender spring in 50 yrs at least.

Weather forecast models such as the ECMWF and NCEP, both of which have had good track records this year in identifying polar vortex outbreaks in advance, are now forecasting a massive cold blast for the beginning of spring.

Remember to remind any libs you encounter that this is all because of that global warming we’ve heard so much about.

They’ll get warm...in the face. They may also screech something about ‘climate change’. I consider ‘climate change’ to be...weather.

And the wanna-be Leftist propaganda-makers just keep singing louder and louder from their parkas how global warming and climate change are “conclusive science” about which no one must dare say a peep or get attacked by the looney Left.

the title says it all really. coldest opening to calendar spring IN 50 YEARS. That implies that we have had weather just like this, even worse, in the past well before Al Gore ever mentioned the words "global warming" or "climate change". One can, therefore, conclude that this in fact a weather anomaly consistent with the historical baseline and not a result of anew phenomena known as global warming/climate change. It is called weather.

Well, if it’s cold somewhere, it’s warm somewhere else.

Things have a tendency to balance out.

Hey Algore, nobody is going to believe your global warning spiel when the Upper Midwest and Northeast are experiencing the coldest winters since the late 1970's.

Geese flew south from Northwest in September rather than December. Anyone who didn’t buy a magic parka deserves to be cold.

I have lived here before the days of ice, and of course this is why I'm so concerned.

While the East has been very cold and very wet the west has been very warm and dry. I think I see a pattern here:

The Laurentide Ice Sheet was the same ‘shape’ as the polar express….

They may also screech something about ‘climate change’.

Someone talks to me about climate change and I tell them they have to pick a side warming or cooling. The average temperature of the Earth either goes up, down or stays the same. It has basically been staying the same for the last 15+ years. I think we need the warmies and the coolies to fight it out before they come to the skeptics with their "established science".

I was thinking of opening day the year Frank Robinson started as player/manager.

Not a storm really. Just flurries.
