White House pastry chef resigns: ‘I don’t want to demonize cream, butter, sugar and eggs’

White House executive pastry chef Bill Yosses is resigning after First Lady Michelle Obama fundamentally changed his job duties to focus on healthier food.

Yosses is leaving the White House in June to work on a new project focusing on “food literacy” and The New York Times says Michelle is “partly to blame.” The openly gay chef was hired by Laura Bush in 2007 to make his trademark cookie plates and sugar sculptures. Mrs. Obama took over in 2009 and ordered Yosses to make healthier plates in smaller portions.

Yosses began replacing butter with fruit puree and sugar with honey and agave. But Yosses was never fully committed to the new policy.

I’ll bet the real reason is that he knows that she’s scarfing down “bad” food on the side by the truckload and has had lipo suction to hide it.

Indeed. Why did they employ a pastry chef for five years, unless they'd been consuming his products all that time?

Quality food preparation is a true art. I cannot imagine why any artist would want to "cast his pearls before swine."

Not to disparage everyone who dines at the White House. But those who turn their nose up at "cream, butter, sugar & eggs," in my estimation, are fit only to dine with swine.

Of course, one will make exceptions for those with particular, proven medical problems, which force them to pass up the joys of fine cuisine.

Seems like I remember not too long ago when a chef known for her high butter, cream. sugar, and eggs recipes was run off the food channel for admitting to using a common word that is considered unutterable by people of her color. Maybe that was a convenient way to get the cream out of the menu. Maybe if you want a pastry chef you should think about what pastry is too. “You can’t have to much butter”, Julia Child.

Oatmeal raisin cookies are my favorites! I am into week 4 of a weight-loss effort, here, so oatmeal cookies sound especially tempting. My sister puts raisins on celery stalks with peanut butter, “ants on a log” for the kids.

If anyone thinks that agave syrup is less fattening than butter, they don't know too much about biology.

But they might know everything there is about taking extended, expensive vacations.

I bet Barack has made numerous late night trips to the kitchen for a snack!

Or for some Crisco and dropcloths to take back to the private(s) quarters.

“This is Mrs. Obama’s house,” Mr. Yosses said, when pressed for details. “It’s not my place to say what dessert she might serve.”

Guy sounds like a professional.

He was at odds with his employer, so he decided to move on. Good for him.

If the case would the writer also point out he is 'openly straight?

Openly straight would be classified as hate speech if used to describe oneself!

“Apparently, Wookies don’t like cookies.”

Oh, yes she does. She just doesn’t want anyone to know especially the MSM. She likes a lot of high calorie food but it’s a big fat secret to the American people. She has a reputation as a healthy, fit first lady to try to make us believe.

Once again, is there anything the Obama’s have touched that hasn’t turned to dust? Anything?

It never ceases to amaze me. In every candid photo I've seen of her, Moochelle always looks like she smells something bad.

What a foul person she must be. Makes me *almost* ... almost, but not quite .... feel sorry for BO.

“A gay pastry chef....Now there’s something you don’t see everyday.”

About as abundant as gay florists and gay hairdressers.

‘Takes a lot of crust’ indeed - and if I recall from my ‘healthy’ cooking days, brownies made with whole wheat flour, honey, and applesauce taste like hockey pucks.

Can you imagine if he had been hired by Clintons and let go by Laura? The MSM would go on and on about it being because he was gay no matter the reason...oh sure, no media bias whatsoever...
