How one soldier is confronting the military's ban on transgender troops

Jacob Eleazer, a 28-year-old Army drill sergeant, learned he was up for promotion this December. For seven years, he’d been an exemplary soldier, rising to the rank of first lieutenant, and now on his way to captain. But there was a problem. Within the confines of his military training center, in western Kentucky, Eleazer still went by his birth name, which was female.

Outside his Army base, Eleazer lived as a man, one of 15,450 military personnel who consider themselves transgender but don’t dare come out to their fellow soldiers and risk jeopardizing their careers.

A Drill Sergeant who is a Lieutenant being promoted to Captain? I'm not sure how that works. Read the article about his/her "broad shoulders, close-cropped hair and jutting chin one would expect of a drill sergeant," and you would expect to see Sergeant Rock in the photo, not a nerdy looking library escapee that we actually see.

Anyone who would butcher their own body has serious psychological disorders to deal with but these days can claim it as an alternative lifestyle. Where does this stop? It doesn't. Any deviancy is acceptable so long as the left wing radicals running the country agree to it. There is more to come folks.

So, if they don't dare come out, how did the author of this piece arrive at a number?

I went to the article. So Manning feels he is a woman trapped in a man’s body but he was afraid of the surgery so he chose to live as a lesbian trapped in a man’s body but now he want to have the surgery so he can be a real lesbian?

Oh for the love of God — “broad shoulders, close-cropped hair and jutting chin one would expect of a drill sergeant,” or just a very ugly woman — Hey dip$hit if brains were dynamite you couldn’t blow your nose. You are a woman. Look in your pants, is it an inny or an outy...Since yours is an inny, you are girl. Now STFU! Either stay in as a female soldier or get out, but either way, do so with the parts that God gave you. The VA can’t cure stupid.

The drill sergeant learned he was up for promotion to Captain, after rising to the rank of 1st LT. Don’t know about the present promotion time lines, but when I was in it was 2 years you are a 1st LT and 2 more years you are a CPT, nothing to learn about. And the article neglects to tell the readers how she became an officer.
