Saturated fat does not cause heart disease: Study
Times of India ^ | Mar 20, 2014 | Kounteya Sinha

Researchers from the University of Cambridge and the British Heart Foundation have found there is actually no evidence that confirms changing the type of fat you eat from "bad" saturated to "healthier" polyunsaturated cuts heart risk.

The researchers analysed data from 72 unique studies with over 600,000 participants from 18 nations and found total saturated fatty acid, whether measured in the diet or in the bloodstream as a biomarker, was not associated with coronary disease risk in the observational studies.

Interesting thing about fat in general: it slows stomach emptying, so eating some fat before a meal might provid a sustained fullness that keeps one from snacking and eating more than one ought to.

Instinctively any one with common sense knows this headline is correct.

Eat real foods. Products from animals have fat in them. We are meant to eat other animals.

Why on earth is anyone believing the health garbage put out by the government and “experts” who are getting paid by the government?

I so wish Americans would think for themselves and do their own research instead of taking the guided BS fantasy tour our government is leading.

Your body and your health are important. Act accordingly.

After the latest 3rd hand smoke studies have confirmed that 3rd-hand smoke is worse that direct smoking, are we going to have to send for a Fed-Ex package for Sea Salt?

The government lies to us about everything else. Why wouldn’t they lie about health issues?

The powers that be want a population that is sick and scared. So sick and scared that we look to “them” for answers.

Agreed! Give us back our crispy taco shells, the golden brown fries, KFC so delicious that you'd eat a bucket of skin, the crunchy cereal that doesn't turn to mush in 30 seconds.

Frankly I'm MORE frightened by the "substitute oils" forced on manufacturers than anything that came before.

Processed foods and soda are the killers. I’ve been on the Atkins diet for 15 years. Meat, cheese, eggs, butter = better health. I have the CBC tests to prove it. Breads, grains, rice, low fat anything not good.

Millions of years of evolution went into creating human bodies that exist to a large degree on animal protein and fat. It’s only in the last 12,000 years or so that we’ve become farmers, and carbohydrates have been able to become the main fuel for most people. Natural selection says - eat your fat, it’s good for you.

Without getting to into the weeds, in the early 80's I spent a few weeks with some real earthy crunchy granola types, macrobiotic, etc., the whole shaboygan. In conversations with them, they had no problem with meat if you chose it, but their discussion of fats was interesting. In regards to oils and margarine etc. they said, look, a good mechanic knows the difference between a fine motor oil for his engine and grease. That last line has stuck with me all these years. When they cooled they preferred real butter and if I remember correct they used only olive oil. All I can say is pass the butter please :-)...

The government food triangle is meant to market what the government wants and subsidizes farmers to grow. Mostly grains that when processed are not good for you. Eat close to the earth is my motto. Beef, pork and foul are good for you until the government gets through with regulating that all animals be pumped full of antibiotics and steroids.
I knew a man who raised hogs commercially. He raised a few separately for his family so they wouldn’t get the chemical bomb that he was required to inject in his other animals.
My personal choice is anything I have raised ( meat or vegetable) or hunted.

I had the same results. Optimal blood test results after 6 months of dumping sugar and processed grains. I do have sugar in our home made preserves and jams on occasion. We also make them with sugar substitutes. Lost 25 pounds to boot!

“(First coffee is bad, then good, then bad, then good....) “

Ed Zachary.

Everything in moderation. Coffee won’t kill you. Neither will sugar. Or carbs. Or whatever. Have a little and move along. You’ll be fine. Overdo anything enough and it’ll probably make you feel bad or kill you.

We can start by avoiding all of the false butters in the butter section and using real butter. Those products are just spreadable plastic and dangerous.

We can also stop smoking and go for a brisk 2 mile walk every day.

I use butter, never margarine. Lately I’ve been using coconut oil for some frying. It may sound weird, but it can be really good. Last night I fried up some boneless chicken breast in it. It’s also really good for leftover cocktail shrimp. Dice ‘em up, fry them with a little garlic and make an omelette - awesome.
