Scent of a Woman star James Rebhorn dies, aged 65

James Rebhorn has died at the age of 65.

The veteran character actor passed away at his home on Friday afternoon (March 21).

Rebhorn is known for starring in Scent of a Woman opposite Al Pacino as Mr Trask and Independence Day as Secretary of Defense Albert Nimziki.

That is a shame. He has one of those faces I feel like I have seen dozens of times in movies.

I’m sorry to hear this, I did not know him from the named movie but rather that he was in a number of Law and Order shows, in all but maybe one, he played the defense lawyer. I see he was also in Carlito’s way where he was a Fed or something like that.

A very fine actor who was in TONS of stuff. I thought he stole his scenes with Michael Douglas in “The Game.”

I thought “Scent of a Woman” was just awful.

Another critic favorite I hated was “The English Patient.” So damn pretentious - I was hoping for a deus ex machina in the form of a 500 lb German bomb to end the film promptly.
