Thirdhand smoke mixes and settles with dust, drifts down to carpeting and furniture surfaces, and makes its way deep into the porous material in paneling and drywall.

Hotel workers who sweep, vacuum, change linens, and dust the rooms of smokers are exposed to higher doses of thirdhand smoke than are the guests who stay a few nights in smoking rooms

Those who move into houses or apartments formerly owned by smokers might be exposed as well. And thirdhand smoke is difficult to eliminate

I wonder what Rush has to say about this. And I'm still waiting to hear how tobacco smoke is so bad but pot smoke isn't.

So, never buy a “2nd hand couch” from a consignment shop if it has the faint odor of tobacco smoke? I’ll probably be sued by my former work buddies because my clothes smelled like cig smoke now? Goin’ in to hiding.

I confess that the first thing I did when I read the headline was to check if this was from a satire site.

It should be.

I’m still looking for solid evidence that second hand smoke is dangerous to anyone other than your cat.

I smoke cigars. My smoke shop has a lounge where guys congregate. One of them is a surgeon. He’s there every day. He says it relaxes him and 2nd hand smoke danger is bologna. That’s enough for me.

If I'm not mistaken, I saw it here a couple years ago, that to be able to inhale the equivalent of ONE cigarette by sitting next to someone smoking, that you'd have to sit there for 48 straight hours.

They just don't know when to stop.

I don’t know if it is dangerous or coincidence or what, but I had 2 parents that were smokers and smoked in the house and I always lagged in endurance activities vs my peers growing up. I was strong and pretty athletic, but always ran out of breath.
