not that we all need to be of like minds and in a coffle, i was surprised to see some classmates ragging on this school for wanting it's dress code enforced. Private schools have the ability to dictate the appearance of their students. This girl, being raised by her grandparents, apparently had problems conforming to the dress code, was warned that she might not be permitted to re-enroll in the following year, and so the family withdrew her from the private Christian school and... ran to the media? my feeling about this is very much the same as those who disagree with some of the Church's rules and instead of going somewhere else where they DO agree, they attempt to change the rules to fit what THEY want them to be. there are some religious sects who do believe that women should not cut their hair, and apparently there is a biblical basis for it. it's their perogative to require that of their students. my kids went through private schools exclusively and i have no problem with what the school did. xsboy's HS did not permit them to wear hoodies [bc it was associated with thuggish behavior? i am not sure] xsbaby's HS had a length requirement for the skirts, no clothes with holes, etc. and they had Commonwealth Academy sweatshirts and sweatpants at the ready, for those in violation. If they were repeat offenders they may have gotten tossed, i don't know.

Most inadvertent followers of the father of lies have this inherent desire, when they encounter a rule contrary to what their father desires, to break it down instead of going somewhere else where such rules don’t exist.

There was a time in America when authority figures such as school principals said, “Here are the rules,” and those striving to be good citizens happily complied. That all started to change in the 1960s, with Dr. Spock’s book on bringing up children being an early culprit. Now the people who cut classes, smoked pot under the bleachers and didn’t hand in homework (unless they copied it) are running the country.
