A woman abandoned as a newborn 27 years ago in an Allentown, Pennsylvania, fast-food restaurant bathroom has been reunited with her birth mother after a social media blitz, local media reported on Wednesday.
Katheryn Deprill, left in the Burger King bathroom only hours after she was born, met her birth mother on Monday in a lawyers office, she told WFMZ television in an interview.
Deprill said her birth mother, who she did not identify, recounted getting pregnant after being raped while on a trip abroad and giving birth in her childhood bedroom at the age of 17. Her parents did not know she was pregnant and she was afraid to tell them, she said.
She left me somewhere she knew Id be found. She did not want to throw me away, Deprill told the station.

That’s a whopper of a story.
She should count herself lucky. It took 28 years for the BK drive thru to prep my order.
Amazing! When I first saw her appeal to find her birth mother, I thought it was going to be impossible. But, a few weeks later, it happened.
I guess her mother didn’t want her to die but leaving her in a cold nasty public bathroom? I’m sorry but there is no redemption there.
I wish people would stop putting ‘birth’ and ‘biological’ in front of mother and father.
There will be almost 4,000 dead American babies today who would easily settle for such lack of redemption. And 4,000 dead babies tomorrow. And 4,000 dead babies Saturday. And 4,000 dead...
This is a story a million times better than the baby found in a garbage can.
“Thats a whopper of a story.”
When the bun came out of the oven the girl was in a real pickle.
You should change your name to “hardheart.”
A similar thing happened in a pizzeria in my hometown. The running joke was they offered free delivery ;-)
A friend of my dad found his lost children after forty years.
“I wish people would stop putting birth and biological in front of mother and father.”
In this case the proper term would be broodmare or brood sow.
So I am assuming the broodmare got away with this crime for 27 years.
Is there a statute of limitations?
Way to go. Insult every woman who has every made the choice for LIFE for her baby, instead of the “popular” accepted way of killing it instead.
You should be ashamed.
in this story it is accurate and necessary, she does have an adopted mother and biological mother
Plenty worse things to get worked up about
The terms biological father or biological mother in fact denote that the so-termed is not the mother or father.
Kind of ironic.
Abandoning a newborn is attempted murder.
Still, better than aborting her, I agree.
If you have twins they’ll send you home with 2 liters of soda. lol
I can only imagine how long it took to find his car keys then ;)
It’s much better than many women do. I read a story once about a woman (not an American, she was from somewhere in Asia, but I forget where, China? Vietnam? someplace like that). Her mother abandoned her in some dirty old tenement stairway. But she was very happy to be alive.
Jesus thinks you’re a jerk.
Luckily, I know the Biblev
He loves the women who left her newborn to die and he even loves you.
I don’t understand sympathy or support for the woman.
I'm okay with that modifier. Her real mother is the one who raised her, and her birth mother is the one who delivered her full term and permitted her to live rather than taking the convenient way out with an abortion. While I don't understand giving up a child, even after rape (if that was true), I think we should cut birth mothers as much slack as possible and thank them for taking the compassionate path.
Really? We hadn't guessed.
I think the emotional and physical facts are much more important than the legalities.
Adoptive parents are the real parents.
Why do you think it is ok for her to have left her newborn in a bathroom?
Just because the baby was rescued and adopted and turned out wee does not absolve her.
Well, if that's your opinion, I'm sure God will obey you.
What the he|| are you talking about?
Because in the ifinnegan world, thats all any female can ever be so it is okay to rape them.
How Islamic of you ifinnegan.
You guys are hysterical.
Can you not put together a coherent thought?
This s addressed to others in addition to workerbee.
You’re psycho. Irrational.
I am talking about a woman who dumps and leaves a new born baby in a bathroom.
You are somehow tying this to the pro-life movement?
I’ve decided to stop feeding the trolls.
I am holding you responsible for your own words.
So we have a girl who gave birth at age seventeen to a child conceived by rape. Take that backwards in time nine months and she was likely sixteen years old when she was raped.
In ifinnegan world its what? When they're big enough they're old enough?
How do you arrive at your “broodmare” verdict?
Beautiful story. I hope we hear more later.
You’re going to get mighty hungry.
You think He even loves me? Well I think He loves you, too. I just think He thinks you’re a jerk. And I mean that in a Biblical sense. Remember when he said “let those among you who are without sin cast the first stone”? Yet here you are refusing compassion - as a Christian, no less - for a woman who did what she could to enable her baby to survive. Oh I’m sorry - she didn’t do it according to YOUR spiritual purity specifications? Well then, she deserves NO compassion then, of course! But before God, with the last of what she had to give, she saved her child.
And for that, she has my compassion - and that of many, many others.
But we’re not as pure as you.
Why? Sire & dam do not necessarily equate to mother and father; and it sounds better than sperm donor & warm pocket.
I don’t buy the story she was raped. Abandoning a new born baby in a bathroom does not lend credibility to a person’s other claims.
Even if raped, which would be horrible of course, there was no reason or excuse to leave her baby in a bathroom.
There was no reason to keep the pregnancy secret and not tell anyone. Especially if she was raped.
Human beings do not leave their newborn babies in bathrooms.
I think the adoptive parents should never have told their daughter that aspect of her newborn life.
How do you know what was in her heart? Negligent, yes, but I suspect she wanted someone to find and care for her child, and her - shall we say - prayers were answered.
Her behavior was deplorable, even criminal, but far worse has been done to many children with no legal repercussions. It's a schmaltzy story, granted, but thank God it turned out okay.
“Her behavior was deplorable, even criminal...””
That’s what I’ve been saying.
