It’s Bush’s FAULT.
(Can’t believe I said it first on this thread...)
I give this an 8 on the honking hoot scale...
.5 Quake On Puente Hills Thrust Fault Could [Could] Be Disastrous
Save yourself and get the AM to change it.
He tried, no response.
Ive never heard that term before(Scared the Pelosi out of me LOL) but I may have to steal that one from you :) quakes that happen during the day don’t scare me much, especially the one a few days ago, even though people in La Habra felt it real bad, for me it was more like being on a boat, like a swaying motion, after all Im about 40 miles away so its far enough
Now Northridge, even though Im about 40 minutes away(On a good day when its not heavy traffic) damn that was a horrible quake, if that had happened during the day the death toll would have been in the hundreds for sure. The Kaiser Permanente parking lot on Cadillac and La Cienaga buckled, my Mom had an appt that day she would have been in that parking lot. CSUN, the parking lot also buckled, my brother went to that school during that time, imagine all the people in the parking lot in both locations. I still remember how the Northridge Fashion Center looked after wards, they had to rebuild the entire thing..we lost our fireplace but that was nothing compared to what others lost
Turnbull Canyon!
They went out for refreshments.
Yellowstone is moving & shaking too. This morning had a 5.1.
I.B.M.C.T.
I’m quite familiar with Turnbull Canyon. We used to live a mile from it.
Studies show that the National Death Rate is holding steady at 100%.
Easy now.
The quote: “ - - - A magnitude-7.5 earthquake along that fault COULD prove more catastrophic - - - “ is just USGS hype to get more funding from The Obamanation. [Caps are mine.]
Coulda, woulda and shoulda are NOT on the Richter Scale.
Small earthquakes are good in that stresses are relieved frequently, thus reducing the odds of “the big one” occurring soon.
That is where I learned to drive. Back then it was a stick shift only. Live in Memphis for a lot of years. Making me homesick.
According to someone on another quake thread, these 5s are good because they release the tension that could build up to a 7. Sounds logical.
My grandpa lived in Cali his whole life. He used to say that as long as there were ‘small’ quakes, there won’t be a be one.
USGS doesn’t agree. Guess we’ll find out.
Women and minorities hardest hit.
WHAT DO WE WANT?
SEISMIC JUSTICE!
WHEN DO WE WANT IT?
NOW!
