Yesterday, journalist Melissa Kite became the latest woman to publicly trash men in a sexist, undeserving rant - this time, by saying those exercising a human right not to become fathers were 'selfish'.

Let's do a little 'root cause' analysis here.

Why do women choose abortion, or put a child up for adoption, or keep a baby? Because they are pregnant.

Why are they pregnant? Either sexual activity, artificial insemination (AI) or, immaculate conception. We know that the latter occurred once about 2,000 years ago, and will never again happen, to a woman whose name was Miryam, or Mary in English. AI is rare and usually occurs only when the other way to get pregnant doesn't work. So, since women are looking to get pregnant through AI, we can assume that abortion rates will be miniscule among AI pregnancies.

Therefore, the root cause of abortion is sexual activity. So, to reduce abortion, reduce sexual activity!

Is it ONLY the woman's responsibility to be abstinent? NO! To modify your question, "So in your view, men are not responsible for pregnancy?" If that is your position, that is very irresponsible and you are suggesting that we, men, cannot control our craven desires.

A responsible man ensures that no pregnancy occurs, unless the child will be wanted. Anything else is abdicating his God given responsibility as head of the household.

I apologise for being a little gruff. I have read too many posts on this article where the authors suggest that everything is the woman’s fault. Your comments happened to strike me in a certain way. It bothers me that most people posting here do not accept the fact that a woman cannot get pregnant by herself and that the man bears no responsibility in the pregnancy. Both partners need to take responsibility. Pointing the finger at someone else leaves three pointing back at ourselves. Unfortunately, we are all cursed by Adam’s decision to wimp out. Over time, we multiply his failings with our own.
