John and Tom talk with Bill Stainton, former Executive Producer of "Almost Live!", about a legendary 1989 April Fool's prank (involving the Space Needle).

(mentions Space Needle prank.)
“Almost Live” was a funny show. Used to be run as a lead in to SNL. In my mind, they had often much better humor. I still laugh when I think of the Pet Slug bit and also making fun of the then mostly Norwegian neighborhood, Ballard.
Unfortunately, it also gave us Bill Nye the “science” Guy.
Space Needle Fall Down Go Boom
Filmed in...wait for it...
But maybe the Space Needle fell south right on 4th Ave. N. right next to Fisher Plaza where the KOMO news helicopter recently crashed.
Don’t make Billy Qwan angry!
Even though I've seen every episode multiple times, it never fails to make me laugh when those legs go around corners to kick John Keister.
Kids! Be like Billy and mind your manners.
Mind your manners!
That was pretty good. Thanks.
