Prayers sent for your son, yourself and your entire family.
Prayers up, may the Lord guide the surgeon’s hands, may the healing of both go well, and be swift and uneventful, in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
Take a canister of bleach wipes and wipe down all surfaces they might touch, hospitals are known for Sepsis, MERSA and other viruses and germs lingering on surfaces. They drag 1 buck of mop water to do a whole floor. Cleaning is spotty. Hand sanitizer might be considered too, or gloves.
So many problems to solve, but none to great for Our Lord. Praying for Joshua and for you and his dad and his medical team. Clearly, there is incredible love in this family for one another and for God.
How hard this is for your family. May the Lord be with your son every second he is undergoing the transplant, and also with you as you also go through the operation. I know you have no thought of it being a sacrifice on your part. It’s what parents do. Asking the Lord to bless you and your family.

Update: The transplant got delayed. Last week his hemoglobin got too low and he had to receive a couple blood transfusions. This automatically delays the transplant for a few weeks due to something about his antibodies acting up to pose problems with the new kidney. His new scheduled date is May 23rd. In the meantime he was able to come home from the hospital and be with his family. We just have to make the 2 1/2 hour trip to do his dialysis 3 days per week.

My, this keeps dragging on. Once again his transplant has been delayed until May 30th. They had to do another emobolization on him today to try and kill off his 3 kidneys again because they are still fighting to stay alive. They had to cut his surgery short though because his potassium skyrocketed, which could lead to cardiac arrest. So in the end they were only able to finish his transplanted kidney and did 50% of one of his native kidneys and didn’t touch the other one.
I have no idea if they will try it again or if we will just go through with the transplant. My worries are that they will try to remove all 3 kidneys during the transplant procedure, which they had mentioned doing that before. I have already told them I am against it. That is way too much trauma for his little body to handle during one surgery.
