Outrageous. Reckless. Senseless. That is what many military families are calling the continuing ban on concealed carry for servicemembers on U.S. military bases. Bases like Ft. Hood, where 3 brave members of our military were gunned down by an apparently mentally-compromised Spc. Ivan Lopez.
And the outrage will only grow in light of a new shocking report that Lopez was able to remain free for 15 to 20 minutes -- more than enough time for him to kill 3 and wound 16 -- before finally being confronted by a military policewoman, whereupon he took his own life.
For contrast, the wholesale slaughter of 26 children and teachers at Sandy Hook Elementary took just 11 minutes.
And this psycho had "15-20 minutes". On a MILITARY BASE. Let the insanity of that sink in for a minute. And this continues to be our shameful Federal policy 5 years after Muslim jihadist Nidal Hassan gunned down 13 defenseless service members on the same base in 2009.

But seriously THIS sort of Insane Laxness can NOT be Allowed to continue!
Who is responsible for disallowing Military Personnel...from being armed..and how do WE reach them?
Gun-Free Zones are target-rich environments for domestic terrorists, regardless of their motive. ..and they know it!
The NY Post is also saying he was in Iraq for 4 months, never saw combat nor was wounded yet he was being treated for PTSD?
“The NY Post is also saying he was in Iraq for 4 months, never saw combat nor was wounded yet he was being treated for PTSD?”
I believe there are cultural dynamics (40 years of liberalism in particular) causing a lot of this ptsd stuff. People are now ill equipped to deal with hardships.
The first time unarmed people were killed was major tragedy
Now it’s extreme negligence and establishes culpability Where is the uproar and resignations in the officer corps for supporting and implementing the no firearms policy, especially since 2009.
Lest we forget. Please pass this on...
“Among President Clintons first acts upon taking office in 1993 was to disarm U.S. soldiers on military bases. In March 1993, the Army imposed regulations forbidding military personnel from carrying their personal firearms and making it almost impossible for commanders to issue firearms to soldiers in the U.S. for personal protection. For the most part, only military police regularly carry firearms on base, and their presence is stretched thin by high demand for MPs in war zones.”
I have children who saw 18 months in a forward combat area and they don’t have PTSD.
Wanna bet the IDF doesn’t make their soldiers walk around unarmed!!
Just saw an “expert” on Foxnews saying how dangerous it would be to let “50,000” soldiers on a base be armed as in an instance like this “everyone would be shooting at everyone and the first responders wouldn’t know who the real shooter was”. Idiot. In Israel, EVERY single soldier carries a machine gun, I was in their equivalent of a 7-eleven and they were getting big gulps with their rifles slung around their shoulder—I felt darn safe actually. And what about that “hide in place” or whatever it was order?? Makes no sense! Use your training to help, not just cower and wait to be shot!
STAY OUT THE BUSHES!!!
TIme for some Meaningful “change” IMMEDIATELY!
Active Duty ping.
Or not...could’ve been under Bush Sr.:
Thinking about it I confessed: "Uh, I think I have a rifle in the trunk" I admitted.
"This is a MILITARY BASE! There are no weapons allowed here!"
As I made a U-Turn to return home to take the item out of the trunk I thought to myself how strange that was.
ex spurts are a dime a dozen...and we all know what a dime is currently worth!
America had best WAKE UP post haste!
How did he get onto a military base when the DRUDGE headline the past week kept declaring ‘Govt seeking homicidal guy by the name of Lopez before he can kill a bunch of people?’
I think most of us didn’t know about the ban on weapons on bases until the Islamic terrorist murdered those 14 Americans at Ft Hood in 2009..
14, Nana ???
Yes there was also an unborn but living baby who died that day..
The news reports mention that Lopez had been deployed to Iraq, but do not attempt to touch on the question of his being infected by Islamic Extremists while in Iraq or in any other undisclosed Middle East deployments.
Did he and when did he convert to Islam?
A stupid move on Clinton's part. But then I've got to ask. Why didn't George Bush rescind the order as soon as he took office?
Because if Clinton is at fault (and he is), then Bush and Obama are at fault also.
How well I remember the rules of engagement that lead to the attack on the U.S.S Cole....
NO Loaded weapons allowed on board...
Under Billy Clintoon.
How many shootings on military bases happened before that? I would like to know Clintoons reason for doing that. If there were no shootings beforehand, then Clinton deliberately put our troops in harms way. Also why the hell didn’t Bush rescind that order?
some of the regular office personal (702X0) on Air Force bases in Thailand during Nam were not issued guns or helmets until the snipers came through the perimeter..
They ran across the compound to the latrine hoping a sniper wouldn’t shoot them..
but for the combat soldiers to not have a gun is treason..
You know, if our Elected Officials would just READ the Constitution and live WITHIN its parameters, things would be SO much simpler.
I’m pretty sure the main job of government is to protect us from enemies both FOREIGN and DOMESTIC, not micro-manage every aspect of our lives! Epic FAIL.
Oh, details, details. So many laws, so many regulations, who can possibly be expected to keep up with them all? May as well just enforce them selectively. *Rolleyes*
Prayers up for the dead and their families. I’m pretty sure the wives and families on Ft. Hood have pretty much HAD it. I’m an Army Vet, and I’d be resigning and packing my bags at this point. So glad I’m no longer serving. It was bad ENOUGH under Clinton!
OK. I’m done, LOL!
“How did he get onto a military base when the DRUDGE headline the past week kept declaring Govt seeking homicidal guy by the name of Lopez before he can kill a bunch of people?”
Right there you have the proof that people at the top levels of the US Government knew that Lopez was going to kill and those people let him on Ft. Hood to kill.
Who did he target?
Which is like saying "This is a bowling alley! There are no bowling balls allowed here!"
This is how insane the Marxist fascists have made things in this country. First off they are alerting the enemy that US Military bases are disarmed. 2nd, it's not like Military bases have never been attacked before.
So what they are doing is deliberately putting our troops in harms way which once again is TREASON!
Liberals have no clue what the answer might be. They are still wondering what went wrong that the shooter had a gun even though military bases are gun-free zones.
It has been suggested that this is a false flag to have a reason to take away vets guns.
when seconds count
the MPs are only 15-20 minutes away
Interesting choice of graphic. Not only is Hawaii an extremely anti-gun state, the park service doesn't allow guns or even small packs on the site.
I was in from '89 to '94, and those were the rules when I was in, not just starting in '93.
BILLY JEFF CLINTON
I wonder if this will be called work place violence, so as not to have to pay survivors any benefits
Whoops, that should be from ‘87 to ‘94, not ‘89. Of course, when I was stationed in Korea for two years, we were under a Status of Forces Agreement that basically disarmed us anyway.
Just heard on the radio from a caller that they have a bomb scare now at Ft. Hood as well. Not sure but caller was a concerned father who drove down to see if he kids who live nearby are safe so I tended to believe him.
My son has a total of 24 months in a forward combat area (Yusufiyah, Iraq; Camp Joyce, Korengal Valley, Afghanistan). He returned from both deployments with little changes to his functioning. The only change I’ve seen is an intolerance towards stupidity from government and military officials.
Since psychotic lunatics, hellbend on killing, disregard laws... the solution would be to make more laws that make all of their intended victims defenseless.
The ruling by the 9th Jerket Court of Slammiels, that conceal/carry laws in California and Hawaii are too strict, has resulted in Hawaii changing the law to a "Shall Issue" state, instead of a "May Issue" state.
Our military, these brave men and women who go into battle in sh*thole countries and die for OUR freedom were told to “Shelter in place” I could not believe what I was hearing..they should be ARMED! and what ended all this, a brave woman who was ARMED confronted the coward who ended up offing himself
Exactly the point I was making yesterday..was in Israel last year for my sisters wedding, saw soldiers walking around on the street, both male and female, ALL ARMED..it was no big deal, no one made a fuss, but here in America, we have become wussified, “OMG A GUN A GUN” please, in Israel its the norm, saw about four Israeli soldiers in the bathroom when I went to the Wall just standing around, talking, with their guns hanging off their shoulders, it was no big deal, they would NEVER be told to hide or run, they would be told to FIGHT
I’m guessing that geting a permit in Hawaii is still almost impossible
Not from what I understand after the ruling by the 9th Jerket Court.
Just heard news on the radio that the murderer bought his gun last month at the same place the Islamic terrorist did..
KLBJ in Austin just reported the same. Device was blown up later. Not related to the shooting yesterday.
“Exactly the point I was making yesterday..was in Israel last year for my sisters wedding, saw soldiers walking around on the street, both male and female...”
And that does not include all the Israeli citizens who walk around every day with their version of Concealed Carry Permits and their own personal weapons.
On the Sunday the week we were there, there were a few thousand on the buses, walking around and in the old city.
We talked to them. They were on one day pass. Orders: take firearms with you and wear uniform.
It's the same in Italy, especially at train stations and airports -- they don't wuss around.
Heck, Obummer has such a high approval rating among the ghetto crowd, he might just run for a third term. This is, after all, the whole hope and change thing.
