I agree with that. I was surprised as to how close that SEC championship game was. Was also surprised at how easily UConn handled Florida. I will say this: I am a big fan of what Coach Donovan has done there. He is one of the best coaches out there, and doesn’t always get the proper credit.

3 Elite eights and 1 Final Four in the last four years, I’ll take it. Especially with a group that had nowhere near the level of talent the 04’s, who won two titles had.

I felt like we lost after that game, I felt like Yamamoto after Pearl Harbor, “All we did was wake the sleeping giant.”

Sleazy Cal is here to stay. Well, as long as he wishes. There is an easy way to get rid of him: Reputable programs could just ignore him and refuse to schedule KY. If he was not able to sell TV commercial time for NCAA and KY, it would be goodby Cal. Unfortunately, that’s not going to happen as reputable programs will continue to schedule UK to bring in the money. So what is going to happen, assuming Cal wishes to stay around, is that reputable programs will join his scheme. That is, sell the university as nothing but a six months NBA prep school. Kentucky’s one and done brand of college basketball has all but killed real competition. So here we have a team that was not even ranked in the top 25 to end the season, lost 10 games, and was definitely not the best team in their own conference, on the verge of winning the NCAA title. The last two games they should have definitely lost, the same player hitting a desperation 3 point shot to win the game for them. Now they win tomorrow night and all we will hear is how Kentucky is on the verge of overtaking UCLA as the greatest basketball program of all time. And how the NBA farm team ran at Kentucky is the new wave of the future in college basketball. Let Aaron Harrison miss those two prayer threes and all this talk about how great Kentucky is with their NBA farm team is out the window...as it damn well should be.

Barky's kiss of death to Michigan State was unfortunate for them. Once he picked them, I knew they were toast.

Like I said earlier, who woulda thunk Barky could have empowered UConn all the way to the final?

Consider another thing: Of all that Barky involves himself in, NCAA basketball might be the subject he is most knowledgeable about.

Watching his picks over the years, that ought to scare the living daylights out of everyone................(and yes, most FReepers were early in understanding that problem)

The fix is in for UK to win yet another game on a 30 foot three pointer from Aaron Harrison, or another miracle play. UConn players can get no where near him when he shoots because if he misses he goes to the line and wins the game for Kentucky. Way too much Vegas money riding on Kentucky for them to lose a close game. The only chance UConn has is to be up 10 points or more in the last minute of the game. If it’s close the refs will win it for Kentucky.

Kentucky players ran to the locker room to start calling their agents.

Don Calipari just said his team lost cause they are freshmen.
He said Parker got tired in the first 3 minutes of the game because he’s a freshmen. This is the same character that kept saying after playing 35 games in the regular season you are no long “freshmen”. It was great for college basketball that UConn won the game. Will be ever better for college basketball if Don Calipari takes his act to the Lakers.

Calipari should have taught them how to shoot free throws.

Here’s a big reason UConn are champions:

Free Throws

St Joes 20-27
Nova 22-28
Iowa St. 20-22
Mich State 21-22
Florida 10-13
Kentucky 10-10

total 103-122 = 84 %

He should tell the truth and say his team lost because UConn starts two point guards that played rings around his guards. Calipari starts a shooting guard playing out of position at point. The team with the best guard play always wins. The only reason Kentucky was in the title game is because one of their guards, not once, but 3 games, hit the winning 3 pointer. They could have just as easily lost all three games.

Logano won the Texas 500 today. A gambler in Vegas knows to stay at least 12hrs on a hot streak.

Oh well, there's always next year.
Maybe this year UCONN will win the really BIG ONE: the ACC will let the Huskies beg for admission one more time - only to be rejected one more time.

Where else except the ACC is UCONN going to go?
