MOZILLA** Interesting posting from an Insider
Pastebin ^ | Apr 7th, 2014 | Mozilla Developer

Posted on 04/07/2014 11:00:55 AM PDT by Bikkuri

Hello. I am member of Mozilla's development team and these postings here lately force me now to react. Let me first clarify one thing. I do that because someone has finally to speak out some things... Things which should clearly brought out to the public....

First, the incident about our short time CEO Eich..... many of us do NOT agree with what has happened. There has been a massive amount of pressure inside and outside of Mozilla which brought him to resign from his post.

About the ads in the new tab page... Our reasoning for this is to make us more independent moneywise and influence wise from Google Inc. - the problem is, even with that we still are unable to break free of Google in so many ways sadly!

About Australis and the so called chrome similarity: In business you have to make some compromise to get your income, there are quite a lot dependencies which often stand in the way what you can do or not do!

BUT: I really would lie if i would now say that there would be no suggestions/recommendation/expectancies coming from the side of Google Inc towards us in terms of general feature request or UI features. Which leads to Australis. I can say, without Google Australis would be a hell of more customizable as it is as end result. Again.. many do not agree with Google's influence and would like to see the relationship between Google Inc. and Mozilla terminated!

And last but not least towards this political boycott... Eich's departure is NOT the whole sickness, it is only part of the symptoms which are plaguing Mozilla. Mozilla as it is right now is torn into half. One half often does not like what the other half is planning. This and the massive amount of Third Party organization influence since a long time is leading to things like that which are damaging in a massive way Mozilla's reputation!

In the end many of us as i said do not agree with most of the above mentioned problems, the reason nobody is complaing is because it is like in every other business... criticize the leaders and you are history!

If you really feel the need for a boycott... Do it against Australis, do it against Google's influence and the influence of the ads industry into Mozilla! Stay with Firefox 28 instead of 29 or stay with Seamonkey. Drop your Google Mail, stop use Google search, write Google a message in their groups that you dislike their direct influence in many of Mozilla's business/developement decisions! We have to get independent again!

Some adresses where you can write: https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/mozilla.governance https://groups.google.com/forum/#!forum/firefox-dev

Or feel free to write your protest to #mozilla or #firefox over Twitter or contact people like Mitchell Baker.

Again... boycotting because of political reasons changes NOTHING - not when the sickness which plagues the construct goes much more deeper! Don't forget with enough support we can change nearly everything! Help us get healthy again, help us break free of limitations we are suffering right now!

After all we are Mozilla - Doing good is part of our code! And we still have not stopped to be the good guys!

With kind regards!

Since there is no direct name with this, I have no way to know if it is true, but it is what many of us suspected (forced retirement).

We must all keep circulating the name Mitchell Baker, the official who imposed her religious bigotry on CEO Brendan Eich by firing him because his religious beliefs didn’t match hers.

Mitchell Baker.

Sooner or later, it is going to become clear to all but the most liberal or the most mentally ill (but I repeat myself) that the only way to satisfy all the demands of the Gay Mafia is to crap on the rights of just about everybody else.

That is true for any single “pressure group.” The Gay Mafia is only the latest to take it for a spin around the racetrack.

This is true and represents the feelings and thoughts of two of three very close friends of mine who work for Mozilla. Mozilla USED TO BE independent but have fallen wholly for Google as their sugar daddy, which is the biggest part of the problem with their leadership/management debacle(s).

Mozilla, as a whole, does not pull down much in the way of profits. They develop FREE software and act a pillar in the open source community. However, the open source community is starting to take notice that Mozilla is floundering, and mark my words, if Mozilla goes over fully to the dark side, the GNU community WILL retaliate by making sure Mozilla burns.

The only way to satisfy the demands of the gay mafia is for EVERYONE to perform a perverted homosexual act in public and on video.

And even then, they’ll still be miserable. It’s because deep down inside, they know it’s wrong. No rationalization can make that go away.

"After all we are Mozilla - Doing good is part of our code! And we still have not stopped to be the good guys!"

In my view, this is exactly what got Mozilla/Firefox in trouble. Taking actions they thought would be perceived as "good" without considering what MOST Americans would really think. My answer is the same...tough crap, lie in it, etc.

Third. Coders sometimes have trouble making the transition from the home tongue through binary to the modulus 26 language...

I live in fear of having to make a call like that.

At the moment, I'm a little stuck with Firefox on my Mac because I have 10.5, but I hope to get it revved up to 10.6 by this weekend. I have a Snow Leopard disc on the way.

If a successful boycott of Australis/Google were waged, most would not make the connection.

If Mozilla/Firefox crashes and burns, it will be quite clear that a line in the sand has been drawn.

I urge all to ignore this posting.

The author seems to think Google is the problem and not Mozilla. And that may be, but it was Mozilla’s board that accepted the resignation, not Google’s. It was Mozilla’s board that apologized for appointing a traditional marriage supporter to CEO.

Mozilla should be boycotted. But maybe Google should too. More evidence of Google’s influence would be appreciated.

Before giving up Seamonkey, I would want to make sure none of the other possible browsers are anti free speech, or promoting the gay Nazis. What are the odds of that? What Mozzila did is appalling, but is it a social/political sickness that doesn’t exist at Google Chrome, Explorer, Opera...? Truth is, I’ve been with Seamonkey since the early days of Netscape. I like the mail program, the composer, the address book, my bookmarks, the way the tools work, and I hate the idea of going to something I don’t like when it would, in all likelihood, be as corrupted politically and culturally as what I would leave.

Have not heard one good thing about that. Similar to Windows 8 / Metro UI.

I have standardized on FF V17 / Pale Moon V19 anyway, for speed and efficiency reasons. Trying not to use the search bar.

Talk about cognitive dissonance. This essay makes zero sense. He blames google for Eich then says a political boycott will change nothing? How so? Mozilla has shown they are an intolerant anti-traditional family company and will destroy the lives of those they disagree with. Screw ‘em and let them burn. Call them Gayzilla wnd let the angry Al Queerda have it. All gay all the time.

He wasn’t hired for his mastery of English.
I wish I had his skills in computerese.
I believe this guy. He sounds like an insider who wants to be free of Google.

If he is correct in the divisions in Mozilla, then hopefully this cretin of a CEO will soon be out the door.

Though I feel bad for the guy who got a forced retirement, I’m sure he is smart enough to find his medicine of cold revenge.

I'm still not through with this. Just couple more things that I want to run by. I read again the statement from the babe at Mozilla. Listen to this paragraph. I read this to you last week. That is the same I got from it.

I am trying not to count the chickens before they hatch here... but, at least for those computer savvy in the states, this just pened up a BIG door. Also read reports of Spain (online) protesters (think they make a twitter named #NoZilla), but I don’t do social websites, so not for sure..

Between the JCPenny, Hobby Lobby, Chick-a-Fillet crap... hopefully this incident will open up more eyes (on the open-source computing side). I have been with them since before they were even here (Netscape.. and there was one before that called Mosaic.. I was still BBSing at the time.. didn’t pay too much attention to the ‘new’ thing).

About him moving on... I am looking forward to it.. and I hope he comes out “guns-a-blazing” with a new open source browser... I will volunteer to be a guinea pig.
