Probably the second-best all-time sports movie after Slapshot.

Nope, the best sports movie was "Ed," a baseball-playing chimp starring Matt LeBlanc. I have it on Blu Ray and watch it everyday!!

It was a total libfest, and somewhat sacrilegious in places, but yeah, I loved the movie. I've watched it several times. And not just because I have a thing for Rene.
"Juuuuuuust a bit outside!"
"Hey bartender, Jobu needs a refil!"
"Hats for bats!"

I’m pretty fond of Miracle actually, but I do love Major League and Slapshot.

The Sandlot tops any sports movie list, IMHO.

I would put Cinderella Man and Rocky #1&2.
I don’t know if made for cable movies count, but 61*, the HBO movie about Roger Maris was excellent.

I saw Bull Durham on the Oxygen network. I don't think we will see Major League or Slap Shot on Oxygen channel. Come to think of it, Bull Durham can no longer be considered a sports/action movie in my home. It's now thought of romantic-comedy since its aired on Oxygen. Still a great movie. I liked the Body Guard, with Costner, too.

If I could only substitute Bo Derek for Spuds Sarandon.
