BOOM: A Christian Can Be a Christian or a Liberal, But Not Both

Can a Christian be a liberal? Short answer: no. There is no way a Christian can buy into Liberal ideology and be faithful to the bigger-than-Dallas teachings of the scripture and expect to continue enjoying his hard-won religious liberties.

For the “Christian” to lean politically to the left means that he must blow off huge chunks of the Bible and replace the scripture with the make-believe notions of postmodernism’s malleable “Christ.”

Only after torturing the scripture can the Christian then fit liberalism into his supposed relationship with God.

Christian and liberal can't even come close to describing the same person.

for most leftists, Jesus was a glorified social activist.

Even a Christian can backslide deep into sin and act like he never was a Christian. The question is did the person ever actually ask Jesus to save them from the heart not just the head.

One thing the libs do best: twist facts and truth according to TODAYS attitudes..

Jesus was seen as a threat to the ‘establishment’ of His day - political and the church. Therefore, He was a true ‘radical’; He did things unconventionally to the day’s standard practices.

Of course, the left LOVES a ‘radical’ who stands against the ‘establishment’ and sticks it to da man.
This wasn’t exactly what Jesus did, but they have hijacked Him and constantly try to twist Him into THEIR image of ‘radical cool dude’.

Sadly, too many ‘Christians’ fall for the leftist crap in their quest to see themselves as ‘good’ people.

Not enough people DIG deep into the Word of God or seek Him with any more than a few minutes of spare time anymore.

There are certain things that God is for, and certain things he is against. They are not hard to find in scripture.

There is a lot of truth tho this. Of course, it would depend on the classic definition of what a liberal is.

Christians are tied to the moral code of the New Testament. It is a code of good vs evil; requires obedience to God’s laws; requires humility to be able to ask for forgiveness and true repentance on a daily basis, etc..

Modern liberalism is a phony philosophy which is based on the concept that freedom is the absence of moral judgements. Christians cannot accept such a moral code.

Here's a good discussion of the subject from the wise and delightful Dr Peter Kreeft, who has become a bit of a rockstar among Christian apologists:

Can A Catholic Be A Liberal?
