MWR & Aaron’s to honor Florida State at Daytona in July:

Florida State University’s trophy case holds lots of hardware, but none for motorsports. Aaron’s and Brian Vickers plan to change that. Vickers’ #55 Aaron’s Toyota will carry a special paint scheme honoring FSU’s 2013 BCS National Championship football team when the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Daytona International Speedway on July 5. The garnet and gold paint scheme on the Michael Waltrip Racing Toyota will include the FSU BCS National Championship logo on the hood. Vickers will also wear a special FSU driver uniform for the race. Fans at FSU’s April 12 Spring Game will see the car unveiling and watch a special video message from Vickers on the videoboard. FSU will collect hoods from the race car for display at block parties, road trips and The Jimbo Fisher Call-In Show throughout the 2014 football season.(MWR), see an image of the scheme on the #55 Team Schemes page.(4-9-2014)

Michigan is the single best argument against restrictor plates there is in my opinion. Race speeds routinely top 200mph into the turns yet the track is known for being relatively crash free.

I still say all they need to do to slow them down is plug in the Laptop and remap the ECM.

Simple and cheap.

in the 90's i had a Z/28, my boss and his boss both had Vettes but all three had the same engine

my boss bought a program that we loaded onto a LT and when you plugged it into the car, you could see what the motor was doing in realtime... the passenger could tweak parameters while on the road

it was slick as sh!t, but voided all the warranties if anything ever happened

I misread Your Post

Michigan is the single best argument against restrictor plates there is in my opinion. Race speeds routinely top 200mph into the turns yet the track is known for being relatively crash free.

Still there is no reason that the ECM Mapping can't handle all the speed problems at ANY Track.

'Cept brainless is involved.

Boeing Built Marines an Osprey Jeep with NASCAR Connection:

One of the drawbacks of the Marines’ MV-22 Osprey has been its inability to take aboard an all-terrain, multi-role combat vehicle and deliver it to the fight. The vehicle would have to be only five-feet wide to fit the tight confines of the tilt-rotor aircraft and also have enough power to handle the 60 percent grade of the off-on ramp.

Boeing and MSI Defense Solutions, of Mooresville, N.C., have developed the Phantom Badger Internally Transportable Vehicle as a solution to the Marines’ problem. MSI Defense Solutions worked with NASCAR teams before it started working with the Pentagon. The 60-inch wide Badger has a 240 horsepower multi-fuel engine, can ford 3 feet of water and can hit 80 mph on paved roads, according to the manufacturers. The vehicle is a much easier fit into the more spacious cabins of the CH-47, the C-130 and the C-17.

Boeing played up the modularity of the Badger that would allow it to be configured for a range of missions, including reconnaissance, explosive ordnance disposal, mounted weaponry, and combat search and rescue.(defensetech)(4-10-2014)
