I am happy to become the most efficient dosa eater. I just broke the dosa into pieces, mixed it with chutney and sambhar and finished it before others could, he said.
The first round saw 25 participants. Some of them were seen enjoying the dosa, without any rush to compete. The first five winners proceeded to challenge each other in the final round by attempting to finish a 1.25m long dosa first.
The event was organised by Super FM 947 Malayalam Station at Dosa Plaza.
There were no unpleasant experiences. No one choked as they were allowed to sip water, said the RJ who hosted the event.
There was just one woman participant.
Ramesh Ganapathy, Founder and CEO of Dosa Plaza, awarded the winners.
Dosa is a fermented crepe or pancake made from rice batter and black lentils. This staple dish is widely popular in all southern Indian states.
That would have been a feat!
“Man vs Food” should go international.
That’s what I thought too. Joey Chestnut would be proud.
If she swallowed it in one piece without gagging, I’d like to meet her.
I am glad to see that contests in gluttony are as well established as they are in the States.
