Bubba Watson hits Waffle House after Masters win. Of course he does.
Yahoo News ^ | 04/14/2014 | Jay Busbee

Where else would Bubba Watson go after winning the Masters but the Waffle House? At about 1:30 in the morning, Watson, his wife Angie and several friends hit a Waffle House somewhere near Augusta National to celebrate.

You can't tell if he's wearing the green jacket in that photo, but fear not, lords of Augusta National: Bubba did not get scattered n' smothered hash browns on the revered fabric. Here's another angle from a friend:

It's reminiscent of the time in 2010 when Phil Mickelson took his kids to a nearby Krispy Kreme while wearing the green jacket:

The writer Busbee is a leftist fool - who while reporting this is cringing at the thouhgt of a guy named Bubba in a waffle house down south.

I’ve gotten into many back and forths with this little twerp on twitter -over his biased coverage of everything from Mike Sam to the Redskins name to Jason Collins. Etc. All the leftwing crap, masquerading as sports news.

Ya gotta love Waffle House. It's a Southern thing that has grown to 2000 locations. If you are into economics and southern culture I recommend James Adams Waffle Street for an interesting take on how our economy works.

Ya gotta love Waffle House.

There was one near my school in DC in the late '60s. Loved the shoe-string fries. It was also staffed by released convicts on probation.

So when are they going to get a Waffle House up here in the Pacific NW??? They are getting a few Chick-Fil-As built here in the next year.

I miss hitting the old Awful Waffle on Sunday mornings for a pecan waffle. Yu’uuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuum!

You can't tell if he's wearing the green jacket in that photo,

Useless bit of trivia: The jackets are kept in lockers at Augusta National. They are not to be worn outside of or removed from the grounds, though I think Gary Player got away with lifting one.

The winner is allowed to keep the jacket and wear it during the first year after their win, then they have to return it to Augusta....

WA state isn’t a Waffle House kinda culture. I’ve lived in both places.

Even Eastern WA and Idaho isn’t. You start drifting into Eastern Montana and then I can see it.

Humility; lack of pretense; good, satisfying comfort food that isn’t ORGANIC or FAIR TRADE; hiring ex-cons to run them - none of that is the PacNW.

Too much new money, arrogance, progressivism, and hypocrisy.

Even in the sticks, you get the new money types buying high-end ranch set-ups and playing like they are country.

Huddle House is better
Very similar histories. Waffle House started in Avondale GA in 1955 and Huddle House in Decatur GA in 1964. Both close to my home when I was in grade school. Last time I ate at the Huddle House was around 1978 and I ran into a high school classmate in there, 11 years after we graduated. We do tend to stick to what we know. As for Waffle House last time I ate there was yesterday. I dated a Waffle House waitress/cook after college for while. Fringe benefit was free breakfast.

If he didn’t go to Sconyer’s BBQ (or at least one of the other find BBQ places in and around Augusta) it is less bright than I thought.

You do NOT go to Augusta and not eat BBQ at least once, twice if you can get to Sconyer’s.
