A video showing an elderly man “cooking himself" in a pot filled with boiling water has been reported by a Russian TV channel.

The man in the YouTube video looks like he is making a big dish of soup with vegetables and people gather around him waiting for a taste.

The TV channel discloses that is a ritual held every year in the town of Yamaga, Thailand.

The 71-year-old man, identified as Kenzo Koya, has been doing this ritual for several years.

He says in the beginning he was affected by the heat which left burns on his body, but with the passage of time and the power of concentration he can now him sit in the pot without scalding or burning his skin.

One can build a tolerance to heat, but only to a certain point. Eventually a certain temple will cause the liquid in your cells to expand and burst the cell wall causing a burn.

I started going all scientific too. Put me in a vacuum with just enough oxygen and flameless heat, I'll sit in water boiling at 110 degrees too. LOL

I'll be sure to steer clear of that temple. Sounds horrible.

He may consider himself a consomme'd pro at this, but the behavior shows a wonton disregard for his health ....
