Skip to comments.'Blood Moon' Eclipse on Holy Monday Sparks Prophecies of 'Rapture'

A rare "blood moon tetrad" will arrive with the start of a total lunar eclipse, beginning late on Monday evening--or, for most of the East Coast, early Tuesday. The eclipse, in which the full moon will be darkened by the earth's shadow, will coincide with the Jewish festival of Passover. In a bizarre, rare calendrical coincidence, the Jewish holiday of Sukkot in October will also feature a solar eclipse--as will both Passover and Sukkot next year as well.

So, I'm just throwing this out there- that these moons don't necessarily forecast doom and gloom-- I think that Israel will score an impressive military victory over her enemies. After all, in a future time, Israel is said to be a land of unwalled villages, at peace:
"And thou shalt say, I will go up to the land of unwalled villages; I will go to them that are at rest, that dwell safely, all of them dwelling without walls, and having neither bars nor gates."-Ezekiel 38:11
Israel, at present, is not a land at peace, of unwalled villages. Could this event, during this year usher in a very short time of peace? Could they take out Damascus? Iran? The Palestinians? Hamas? All of the above?
Good thing I'm divorced.
"Netanyahu orders IDF to prepare for possible strike on Iran during 2014"
With Obama and his flunkies in charge, Israel knows the US doesn't have her back anymore. The may try somwthing this year. Maybe these moons will help them make their decision.
Sorry, “Signless.” Dang iPads.
Yes, I think something like that is right. A big victory this year, setting the stage for a HUGE attack by her enemies in the future.
>>> Could this event, during this year usher in a very short time of peace? Could they take out Damascus? Iran? The Palestinians? Hamas? All of the above?
I believe you are correct about the observable pattern.
More specifically, I believe what we will see is the Psalm 83 war fullfilled as prophesied. (neighbor nations will attack and be defeated)
I think we will also see as a result Israel gaining back full control of Jerusalem and the temple mound.
All of this will of course not be liked by the nations, and events will lead to the next war prophesied in Ezekiel 38.
I do have to note that the Blood Moons this and next year all fall on Jewish High Holy Days.
She’s a pretty impressive FULL moon this early morning here in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The moon is brightly lit and setting.
Yes, it is a mistake for Christians to see this pertaining to them.
While intriguing as it may be, a huge red flag for me is that tonights blood moon is not visible from Israel.
Come, they say, let us destroy them as a nation, so that Israels name is remembered no more. With one mind they plot together; they form an alliance against you As fire consumes the forest or a flame sets the mountains ablaze, so pursue them with your tempest and terrify them with your storm. Cover their faces with shame, Lord, so that they will seek your name. May they ever be ashamed and dismayed; may they perish in disgrace.
Why? Jews and Christians belong to Gods family together, as Christians are grafted in by adoption according to the Bible. Jews being his chosen family. Anti-Semitism and Christian persecution go hand in hand, and are not separate issues. God does not have two separate families, only one.
Alas, it’s very cloudy and rainy and will be all night and into the morning. No eclipse for me.
What I’m saying is that these are Jewish Holidays, which Christians, for the most part, don’t celebrate. So this event would pertain to the land of Israel. The Jews. I didn’t mean it would not have ramifications for us.
>>Yes, it is a mistake for Christians to see this pertaining to them.<<
You know, Christians do recognize the OT, right?
Aren't there more Jews in the U.S. than there are in Israel? ha ha Actually it's very close:
“The Rapture is a singles event
Good thing I’m divorced.”
Whereas there are many who are thinking ‘singles event’ ‘rapture’ and doin’ the cologne thing;)
"Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day."-Colossians 2:16
So I'm saying there isn't going to be an earth-shattering event in Iowa, or Germany- but in Israel. The majority of the Jewish people, if you haven't noticed, aren't too keen on Jesus, by the way. We are a bit separate at present.
That might be a reference to America.
Yes, I wasn’t really planning on mingling during the rapture. But I guess a bath and clean underwear isn’t just in case you have to go to the doctor.
>>You don’t celebrate Passover do you? Sukkot? No. In fact, Paul taught that we can or choose not to observe them—
“Therefore do not let anyone judge you by what you eat or drink, or with regard to a religious festival, a New Moon celebration or a Sabbath day.”-Colossians 2:16

Not sure where all that came from when the comment was “most peculiar” with the follow-up pointing out that Christians believe in the OT.
Okay...since that is the case WHICH of the four WILL be visible from Israel?
Exactly. It all seems to come together under that theory. Israel conquers her immediate enemies, and the rebuilds the Temple. Then comes the Gog and Magog war. I am not sure if Putin is the Prince foretold, but if he isn’t, he sure is giving a good audition and dress rehearsal.
You think God’s trying to tell the world anything? Like repent and turn to the Christ our Messiah?
There are scriptural references in the Bible about the end times, and the moon will turn to blood...that is what a blood moon is, that prophecy.
He’s definitely warning us.
The last 3 tetrads have been associated with events that affect the Jews and, most interesting, begin with doom and end with celebration. Look at 1492, the Jews were expelled from Spain, and America (future haven for Jews) was discovered. In 1949 the Jews were reeling from the Holocaust, and the State of Israel was founded. In 1967 it was the Six Day War that ended with the reunification of Jerusalem. It is safe to assume that the same pattern will hold for this tetrad, which means it is NOT the Rapture since it will not affect Israel. My guess would be the Psalm 83 War, beginning as a war of annihilation and ending with the utter defeat of the arab nations immediately surrounding Israel.
Definitely. It is certainly something to consider. We'd be idiots not to. The Bible even teaches that one of the reasons for the moon is exactly for that-- for signs--
"...and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years- Genesis 1:14
Only the last of the four blood moons will be visible in Israel and then only partially.
>>> I am not sure if Putin is the Prince foretold, but if he isnt, he sure is giving a good audition and dress rehearsal.
I think the real deal is someone who is still inaccessible to the public eye for a reason.
Right now, I think the AC is someone that only world leaders know about... because he wants to make a “grand entrance” when all hell breaks loose.
“Israel, at present, is not a land at peace, of unwalled villages.”
“That might be a reference to America.”
Agreed, null and void.
Just finished watching the Harbinger. Stunning.
I don’t believe in a “rapture”, as I plan on staying and fighting the good fight Christians should.
We aren't going to have any advanced notice, it will just take place. But it will certainly be "soon." Of course, each of us sees Jesus upon our own death-- so that train is already coming.
I know you already corrected yourself as meaning "signless event" but there is something to be said for a Jewish singles event. Just need a good cook.
Of those, here is my pick: Prince Philippos of Greece and Denmark
Sorry, 80's flashback!!
A uniquely Israeli event, I should have said. Not America, but for the tribe of Israel.
Naw... he’s too young
Interesting point though.
Remember, Jesus began to preach when he was about 30 years of age. The Antichrist will copy Him.
1 John 2:22-24 (KJV)
22 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. 23 Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also. 24
The anti-Christ Jew does not have the Father. He is not a member of God's family. Jesus came to his own, but they received him not, but as many as received him, to these gave he power to become the sons of God, to them that believe on his name. Which were born not of blood nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God." John 1:12-14
If you don't believe that Jesus is the Christ, then you are not a son of Abraham. That promise was made to Abraham and to his seed and that seed is Jesus Christ (Galatians 3:16). If one is not "in Christ", then he is not a child of promise and joint heir with Christ Jesus.
You do err because you do not know the scriptures.
There is NO RAPTURE!
It is an invention from the 1830’s
“the tribe of Israel.”
Do you mean The House of Israel? Those that traveled over the Caucasus Mountains, scattered throughout Europe and Canada and eventually America? (Caucasians)
Weren’t there 12 tribes? 10 were of the House of Israel and two were of The House of Judah?
I’m still learning so please be gentle in your response.
The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord.
