ARE HISPANICS NATURAL DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS?

ARE HISPANICS NATURAL DEMOCRATS OR REPUBLICANS?
OR SHOULD WE ASK,
ARE HISPANICS MORE LIBERAL OR CONSERVATIVE?

I report, you decide..

Broadly speaking, the Hispanic society, regardless of nationality;
In the most generous interpretation, which political identity better fits the natural characteristics of the Hispanic community?

I believe if you ask the average Hispanic, legal or illegally in our country, the following questions, the answers would be astonishingly different than the average American would attribute to the media's interpretation of this community;
    1. A vigorous background check to insure they have honestly answered the questions, law abiding background, physically and mentally healthy, financially capable..
    2. A legally responsible citizen sponsor, or guaranteed employment..
    3. A agreed upon, predetermined, time limited, periodic reporting for compliance..
    4. A prohibition against any felonious illegal activity for a minimum of 10 years..
I believe the main reason there is a flaunting of our immigration laws, are our immigration laws themselves, and the proliferation of rules that have created a cottage industry of regulations that maintain  the status quo, on both sides of the boarder.. There should be a complete review of the worker program, and temporary and permanent status, with levels of time and costs..

I am convinced they would apply and complete these requirements if they were more fairly unburdened with profit motives of the current methods, and they would vote in favor of their inherent beliefs, which is unquestionably Conservative..

True True True.
They don’t want to be US citizens and would like to think they will go back to Mexico to live, but after being here for so many years and liking the water on 24hrs a day ,and electricity 24hrs a day(both for now)it becomes harder to divorce themselves from this life style.

They are naturally Republican leaning but greatly influenced by the liberation theology bent int the Roman Catholic Church,

That is not even close.. The Church says a lot of things that are lofty goals that almost all of their followers fail to follow.. Divorce and birth control among them..

They vote a majority Dem. because they are fed the constant BS about a promise of amnesty and we bite the apple by screaming at them..

We should change the subject to a better immigration policy, fairer, quicker (it takes as long as 3 years and costs several thousand) and cheaper..

Hispanics apparently cannot assimilate to the point of not needing affirmative-action racial preferences, even after 3 or 4 generations.

The GOP will never win over a group that cannot assimilate into the USA. Hispanics, like blacks, are not coming to the (alleged) party of smaller government.

Better to invest in Asian outreach.

One needs to look at them and try to honestly see why they are democrats.

The work ethic thing is blown away by the facts of welfare and the evidence of the lack of quality they generally introduce to an area of work.

Does anyone really want to pretend that such dedicated pro-abortion/pro-gay/ voters and future voters have “deeply held religious beliefs” and “strong family values”

Anyone who has spent time in Mexico, or in the Hispanic community in America should not accept that they have “a rigorous work ethic, strong community commitment” Mexico is a grubby disaster of poorly done, and partly done work, and always has been.

The expulsion crowd at the Journal never acknowledges the fact that pro-amnesty, “comprehensive immigration reform” leader John McCain (R-Ariz.), was rejected by 67 percent of Hispanic voters, that 72 percent of Hispanics voted against Bob Dole, that 69 percent voted against the elder Bush and that 62 percent voted against the younger Bush. So, it could be argued that Romney’s “tough” illegal immigration stance cost him only 4 percentage points of the Hispanic vote as opposed to that of McCain and that he actually picked up 6 points over Dole and 2 points more than Bush senior did.

The bottom line is that Hispanics are largely Democrats and they don’t swing their support to pro-illegal-immigration Republicans such as McCain and or even to Bush senior, who was vice president at the time of the 1986 amnesty.

In fact, after the 1986 amnesty was signed by President Reagan, the Hispanic vote for the Democratic presidential candidate (Michael Dukakis) in the next election increased by 8 percent. After McCain attempted to push through another amnesty, Hispanic support for the Democratic candidate (Barack Obama) in the next presidential election increased by 9 percent over that received by John Kerry in the previous presidential election.

So if favoring illegal immigration and rewarding illegal aliens is not the key to winning Hispanic votes, what is? Polls show that Hispanics strongly support government welfare and entitlement programs such as Obamacare. In fact, according to surveys reported by the Pew Hispanic Center, 69 percent of Hispanics support expanding or leaving Obamacare as currently constituted. That 69 percent is eerily close to the 71 percent of the Hispanic vote that went to President Obama.

Hispanics apparently cannot assimilate to the point of not needing affirmative-action racial preferences...

There are several millions of Hispanics in Texas whose families have been here since Independence -- and before -- who would sharply disagree with your conclusion.

There were many Hispanics inside the Alamo...and at Washington-on-the-Brazos.

Your description may be accurate for the late arriving illegals, but it's not accurate for the bulk of legal Hispanics.

Unfortunately when it comes to government all they know is socialism and communism. They have been taught this since they were born and it's baked in the cake.

The only fix for illegals is to force them back across the border where they belong. Simply make it a criminal offense to knowingly hire an illegal alien worker. Give an amnesty period where all illegals have one year to leave the country on their own. If you leave on your own there will be no penalty and can apply for any future legal status. If you are caught in the country after the one year amnesty period you are documented with DNA, deported and can NEVER legally enter the United States again.

The illegals would self deport with these simple changes.

ansel, I have had thousands of them in my employment in my companies for years..

Aside from their language problems they are better workers at their level of employment, than any other culture..

They are willing to follow rules that are well defined and fair, without questions, or hostilities..

Once they know you, and trust you, they are the most loyal of my assets..

We just had an election, 71% of “legal” Hispanics voted for Obama’s second term.

I’ll only speak to the work ethic part. I’ve had a roofing crew working on my house about 2 years ago. Only the foreman spoke English. Those guys worked hard, and did a great job.

Thats just one example. From every indication I’ve seen, they do work very hard.

LOL, I don’t doubt you one bit about what sounds like your longtime preference for Hispanic labor by the “thousands”.

In construction and the trades, they generally suck, and when you look at Mexico, you can see that what they do there sucks as well, and always has.

Hispanics are natural Dems. They have 53% out of wedlock birthrates, high school dropout rates, greater than average use of welfare programs, and support Big Government.

From a Pew study: When it comes to the size of government, Hispanics are more likely than the general public to say they would rather have a bigger government which provides more services than a smaller government which provides fewer services.

Some 75% of Hispanics hold this view; just 19% say they prefer a smaller government. By contrast, just 41% of the public at large voice support for a bigger government.

Support for a larger government is highest among immigrant Latinos, with 81% holding this view. This share falls to 72% among second-generation Hispanics and 58% among third-generation Hispanics.

I really don’t care what the resident of the island of Hispaniola is, though as a rule I thought they were either Dominicans or Haitians.

Hispanic voters are Legal (heck they're citizens) and they vote Democratic.

It's not illegals who make those Texas border counties democrat strongholds.

Allow me to meet your points one at a time if I can..

Unfortunately when it comes to government all they know is socialism and communism. They have been taught this since they were born and it's baked in the cake. Your broad statement is patently fails fact.. Immigrants from the former Communist block, are some of the most ardent patriots in this country, defending our conservative views and warning against socialism..

I AGREE, and never said anything else.. This post is a fact of life, and we can get many more of them if we were more proactive in our messaging.. The illegals would self deport with these simple changes.

There is a lack of enforcement of our immigration laws. If they were enforced, there would be no flaunting of them. When you reward illegality, you get more of it.
