Absolutely true. Just look at Orange County, California, which used to be a strongly conservative Republican area. It’s been invaded like the rest of Southern California. The proof of the pudding is in the eating. Any area that has become majority Hispanic, legal or illegal, has turned Democrat. If there’s any area that has not, I certainly never heard of it.

Then, if as you say, they are against Amnesty, and as Carlos and Juan McCain are wont to say, they are the Children of God, that is against Abortion, against Gay Marriage.

Knock it off! I've never claimed anything like that.

Have I, at any point, supported the notion of amnesty or continued levels of uncontrolled immigration?

I'll give you a hint.

The answer is: No!

Thanks.

As an aside, I would add that conservatives in this country have to make a conscious effort to break away from leftist immersion, what they get in schools, through the news and entertainment media, pop culture and politics. Identifying with conservative values personally doesn’t mean those values will transition into cultural and political identification. People have to take the red pill to wake up in reality.

This goes along with what you are saying, that no matter the personal values immigrants bring with them, they are immediately taken into the redistribution system. They are inundated with leftist news, leftist entertainment, and leftist indoctrination into American culture. Unless they realize the extent of the brainwashing program they have entered, and choose their conservative values to drive their reasoning, immigrants are going to be absorbed into the leftist mainstream.

One thing is for certain. Republicans aren’t going to persuade Hispanics to break away from the leftist mainstream by pushing amnesty. It’s cliché to say that Republicans need to be smarter than that, and that they need to communicate better, but the fact is, mainstream Republicans haven’t made the conscious effort to break from the leftist mainstream. Republicans need to make the break to conservatism before they can convince anyone to leave the left.

Re: “The answer is: No!”

Well, thanks for emphatically answering a question that was not asked!

How do you propose to stop Amnesty?

How do you propose to stop massive LEGAL immigration?

The only reason Conservatives have any political power in 2014 is because:

(1) We turn out to vote at higher rates than any other group.

(2) We have the highest voter eligibility rate - more than 80%.

When Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, and Left Wing whites begin to vote at the same rate we vote, Conservatives will be politically dead.

Do blacks love their families?

Do blacks oppose abortion?

How many blacks and how many Latinos oppose gay marriage?

How many Latinos support affirmative action?

Do a high proportion of blacks or Latinos support gun control?

“We should change the subject to a better immigration policy, fairer, quicker (it takes as long as 3 years and costs several thousand) and cheaper.”

Carlo, why do we have to facilitate their desire to immigrate to our country legally or illegally? Our immigration system should be fairer to our citizens.
I have people in my family who identify as Latino and are of Spanish decent via Mexico. I don’t want the immigration policy of my country to be based on my feelings for these people that I know personally.

My husband is a Dutch citizen. I love his family, his friends and his culture, but I’m not going to say let all those Dutch people in and make it cheaper, easier and quicker for them. I’m an American citizen; make it quicker, cheaper and easier for a citizen spouse and children to enter, but vet the hell out of the rest of them before you let them in and make it in our interest that they are allowed in, not their interest.

Your operating premise seems to be that all is lost, anyway.

Yet, we have stopped amnesty before. Why can't we do it, again?

Did you read my post I said the same thing.. I’m not advocating making it easier, only safer.. It appears we can’t/won’t stop this invasion..

Many blacks oppose abortion and gay marriage but they still rarely vote Republican.

The same could be said of assuming Hispanics will vote in larger numbers for Republicans.

Carlo, I didn’t use HTML, but the statement in quotes is what you said and I replied underneath the quote and I think I almost totally disagreed with you.

You said you want a fairer system for immigrants and I don’t care if it takes someone 3 years to go through the process. I think for what they gain, to become a citizen three years and a couple of thousand dollars is too cheap. The only people who should go to the front of the line and get in easier and cheaper, in my opinion, is spouses and children of American citizens.

Let me get this right.. Because the majority of a subculture has a propensity to vote one particular way, you answer is DON’T TRY TO PERSUADE THEM OTHERWISE?

I’m saying that this particular culture has conservative values than mirror ours, more so than the opposition.. I’m not suggesting that we should expect a major shift..

My suggestion is to promote our sameness and not allow the left to define us.. I don’t give up as easily as you, apparently..

Let us remind ourselves that we are on the same side of the isle.. I hate Amnesty, in any form, we don’t need it, and it won’t happen anytime soon, because we are here with a current majority in the House..

Now here is the camel in the tent.. Our Nation Business, small and large, needs this source of labor, whether you or I like it or not.. I know this first hand, but that is not all I base this on, ask the Ag industry, and the Hospitality Industry, and no less than the US Chamber of Commerce..

Not one of those industries want illegal immigration, because it’s illegal, DUH, but also sloppy and unpredictable.. We have no alternatives available to overcome the need except maybe automation, and robotics, and that isn’t good enough, especially for small business..

FYI, I spent 45 years in small business in Restaurants, Hotels, Ranching, and Cruise Lines, with a peak of 2800 employees, of which 40% was labor intensive, with 70% of those made up of these folks.. NO OTHER RELIABLE SOURCE APPLIED, NONE, ZIP, ZILCH, NADA!

Nothing I did, offered, tried, or attempted, filled those spots, that were vital to the operation to open the doors, and stay open..

My operating premise is that getting 40% of the Hispanic vote means the end of Conservative political power.

You, on the other hand, stated that the GOP getting 40% would make it very difficult for the Democrats to ever win another national election.

That is not correct.

Nationally, today, the Democrats have a 5% advantage over Republicans among “eligible” voters.

If Democrats figure out how to get their folks to the polls in 2014, the GOP will not win the Senate, and we will lose several seats in the House.

Most importantly, if the GOP does not find some way to stop massive LEGAL immigration - 1 million new Socialist citizens each year - then the GOP and Conservatives are politically doomed.

okie, you are soft on immigration.

I can tell by the way you write.

You use the same clichés and the same talking points and the same obfuscations that Boehner, and Rubio, and McCain, and the Bush brothers use.

If you do not understand that current immigration law - 1 million new citizens per year - will destroy American Conservatism, then I have no idea what else to say to you.

okie, you are soft on immigration.

I am simply astounded that you have drawn such a conclusion from the evidence at hand.

I can tell by the way you write.

So, you can derive arcane meaning from one's grammar, punctuation and spelling. I guess I didn't realize what a skilled and incisive savant I was dealing with.

Not only can you foresee the future, but you can determine what is in the minds of others simply by the way they write.

Such a gift...

Carlo, I agree we are definitely on the same side of the aisle. I’m not trying to argue with you, I just am disagreeing with you. :)

I am not ready to raise the white flag and compromise again. I think there are a lot of businesses that shouldn’t be in business. If a business can’t stay in business without hiring illegal aliens, they shouldn’t be in business, period. Every business that hires illegals and every citizen that hires illegals to do their yard work/housework are part of the problem.

We need to force illegals out, while at the same time forcing people off the government dole. All we need is a candidate with the guts to say it.

I should have said we need a candidate with the guts to say it and the cajones to follow through with it.

Elyse, I don’t want another word to be written without a clear understanding that I HAVE EVER INDORSED ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, that would be a lie, and to intimate so is outrageous..

Where are you and I differing? Maybe except you feel we should close small businesses the hire Hispanics, and I am astounded at such a statement.. Do you think we hire Mexicans or any Hispanic that we know are illegal? WRONG, and I speak for the greater majority in my industry..

Every employee we hire has to have a Social Security Card, and a picture ID issued by a state agency.. Otherwise we couldn’t issue a payroll check with withholdings..

They may be illegal but how would we know if they have the documents? If we refuse to hire on suspicion, I would be sued out of existence.. I know where you are coming from, and I assure you we are together, we hate the massive illegal influx, flowing across the pores boarders, unchallenged..

My post is to insure we have a safe flow of legal workers, and a better relationship with those that are legal in our favor, nothing more, nothing less..
