guess PETA might show up if you colored them a nice pastel lilac or pink....
and that was the sentiment behind the brouhaha. I had honestly never thought much about the footwashing of holy thursday, but when Fr. Claudio mentioned it and acted like wow, the Pope ruffled feathers by washing the feet of women, i then went home and started reading about it and saw the controversy.
She might be out of the public eye for awhile & seemingly recondite, then we'll get
re-Condi'd by the Media when it suits their purposes to gain the support of the "faithful" ...
excellent!!!
Your friend needs to remember that we are all sinners. She has made known her beliefs to her son, I would imagine. After that it is her job to love him and keep the lines of communication open. No one is converted from sin by rejection and constant hounding. Jesus was kind to the woman at the well and converted her from sin. We are hardly able to do what Jesus did, but we must try. All we can do is pray for her son’s conversion. There are some powerful prayers out there...I have, basically, an exorcism prayer card I got from a Catholic priest at a conference. I have seen some deliveries after using it. That type of prayer is not for the faint of heart, but moms can do just about anything for their children. I have used it on my son and he has come home. A few times, actually. I will pray for her.
he must have been high on something, who does that? takes a certain kind of crazy.
It’s got to be a tough thing for her to be going through. Sin does that. Any sin. And thank you God, we have a conservative Bishop here in the Rochester Diocese. While I go to Bible study in the Syracuse Diocese, I don’t follow the goings on there much. I understand they sold their cathedral and now it’s just become known that a Muslim has bought it and it is to become a mosque. That appears to be the hot topic at the moment.
I will pull it out later and try to find it online. They can be ordered from a website, but it always takes me awhile to find it each time I need it. Never hurts to have one on hand. I usually order a half dozen, then seem to give them to friends and get back down to one. I only have one at the moment so I am due to reorder.
i’m not well-informed on the subject; but I didn’t know exorcisms and lay people mixed? Thought it was more the field of priests who studied it?
Huh, I call it exorcism, but it is not a formal one at all. And I learned it a Catholic conference from a Catholic priest, so I feel pretty safe.
ooooohhh!! Okay; I should have figured something like that. That’s cool; the word just carries so much weight I got hung up on it.
Our daffodils are done, tulips are in full bloom along with dogwoods, and the azaleas are just starting.
i would be interested if you can send the link.
Amen! And A+ for you!
A+ for you. She is a fascinating person. Very smart and talented.
Love the sinner, hate the sin.
LOL apparently xsfiance WILL come to church with us tonight. He asked xsteen if the whole footwashing thing had been “squared away”.... LOL! think he’s skeered of having to participate in that aspect...
he will come right from work, which is walking distance to the church. He’s recording the Flyers game and needs to be in a phone-free zone until he can get home to watch it.
