My father is the same age and is in an Alzheimer’s care facility. Happens to a lot of people when they get to their late 70s.

I wish Mr. Campbell’s family the best. Even when your family member is in a home, there’s still a lot of monitoring and attention needed.

He became a Christian and later got messed up (happens sometimes - happened to me) and then gradually found peace, then this. I plan to see him in Heaven.

Time takes its toll on the Wrecking Crew.

It is hard to believe he is 78. Very sad.

Meet Glen Campbell and Ghost on the Canvas are both very good CDs. Sorry I never got to see him live on tour.

Yes what a humiliating and destructive disease to all associated with it and with it.

A great talent.

Amazing guitar player.

IIRC, he even went on tour with the Beach Boys at least once.

He wasn’t doing badly just two years ago.

Here is a Grammy Tribute to Glen Campbell where he sang his hits with other country stars. That was a historic moment.

His music was the epitome of the 70’s backlash against the creeping bilge of the 60’s “music.”

Such a gifted vocalist, and I understand he could play the guitar well, too.

It is hard to believe he is 78.

When his struggle became public, my brother recalled that he - pretty much unknown - was the entertainer at his high school graduation activity -- 1963.

Just watched him last night in True Grit (1969). I enjoyed his show back in the day too.
Sad to see him go this way.

His songwriters were some of the best. “Gentle on my Mind” is wonderful.

OH, my goodness, he really could play! My husband is a guitarist; I’ll show him this video later.

He also played guitar on the Irish Rover’s hit “The Unicorn”.

That is a good song, and so is “Galveston.” If he wasn’t writing his own pieces, he knew how to pick them.

Young male country singers today rarely have that kind of big, rich voice. I often find myself asking, “Why is this guy a star? He can’t sing!”
