Let’s face it: he was a great American artist.

A class act.
Sad...the Campbell motto is "Do Not Forget".

“Wichita Lineman” is a football song. It appears to be about a Wichita Indian at a junior college—perhaps Coconino County College in Flagstaff, Ariz.—who plays offensive guard or tackle, seeking to open holes for the ball carrier (”drive the main roads”) and ward off blitzes (”another overload”). He can hear his girl friend cheering though the crowd is booing (”I can hear you through the whine”). He is preparing for a home game with a team that uses a pass-oriented run-and shoot formation, or “stretch,” that will be ineffective in snowy conditions.
To: trisham
Amazing abilities! He will be missed.

It was that blow to the head that did him in decades later

One of the most lyrically confusing songs you'll ever hear. There aren't many that can pull that song off. Glen could though.

Nice, and I agree about Linda Ronstadt, a terrific vocalist. I also liked a good word for Linda Ronstadt, somewhat underrated but one of the very best and most versatile singers. I saw her in about 1973 on stage at San Diego State University wearing a cub scout uniform top and shorts.

I expect that looked absurd ... but she really could sing. Maybe she still can.

Linda Ronstadt can’t sing any more. She has had Parkinson’s disease for a number of years.

Interesting that he and Jose Feliciano both favor Ovation classical guitars. Not too many play them these days.

Jose Feliciano, now there’s a name we haven’t being hearing of nowadays...
Wonder what he’s doing now...
