Got to be a hit piece
I read the piece.
It was overwhelmingly positive.

The main article is one of those stealth hit pieces. For every complimentary or positive point there is the obligatory undermining sentence soon to follow. After reading the article you get the sense the writer is attempting, typically, to relegate Ted Cruz as a very popular yet fringe-element politician. A treatment no hard-core leftist politician will get from a major news outlet.
Mr. Cruz finds himself standing alone a lot these days. His response to the cold shoulders: "The establishment despised Ronald Reagan " before he became president, "but the people loved him."
That style clearly resonates in some voter blocs. "I just came from Washington, D.C., and it's great to be back in America," he said to cheering crowds at an Iowa convention of home-schoolers in March, where his attendance fueled speculation about his presidential ambitions. An audience member yelled that the Washington establishment doesn't listen to "the people." Mr. Cruz shot back: "They're not listening to me, either."
When Mr. Cruz arrived at the U.S. Capitol, Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell sought to bring him in the fold by taking him on new-senator trips to Afghanistan and Israel and as his guest to a glitzy Washington gala.
At weekly Senate GOP lunches, some colleagues went out of their way to avoid sitting beside him, several attendees say. "Some aspects of the Senate are like the junior-high lunchroom or 'Mean Girls' cliques," Mr. Cruz says.
Mr. McConnell maintains severely limited contact with Mr. Cruz, occasionally refusing to even say hello when they pass.
Senator Cruz and Sarah Palin are the only candidates for whom I would drop my policy of not voting and come out to vote for as President. I greatly admire both of them.
“Senator Cruz and Sarah Palin are the only candidates for whom I would drop my policy of not voting and come out to vote for as President. I greatly admire both of them.”
I understand why you admire them: unlike almost all other politicians, they are genuine American patriots, in the vein of our founders.
Sorely missing nowadays in both political parties
See my tagline.
What will I do? As I said, vote for either one if they run.
I have this aversion of asking for money from anyone for any reason; therefore, I cannot see myself doing any political fundraising. Just me.
It certainly is necessary in our system and I salute anyone who does it for our side.
I did it for the Polk County GOP and several candidates in the 80’s and Fred back in 2008. I have done phone sales so I have no aversion to the telephone.
