Two men, 29 and 39, were shot about 2:40 a.m. Sunday in the 100 block of East 132nd Street in the Altgeld Gardens neighborhood. Neither cooperated with police and would only admit to hearing shots and feeling pain, police said.
(1) I always find it hilarious when someone gets shot and then DOESN’T want the cops’ help in solving it ....
(2) What’s the over/under for percentage of Chicago victims that are black?
98? 99?
Gun crime statistics are not driven by easy access to guns. They are driven entirely by the available number of criminals a location has.
I lived in Chicago in the early 90’s. At the time it was an awesome place to live. Loved the neighborhoods and the mix of everything going from block to block. Left in ‘96, went back for a visit in ‘07, and will likely never go back again. The whole place was either souless, upscale gentrified/’burbified yuppie, or it was ghetto, and little in the middle.
I grew up just outside of Chicago and went to the city often in the 70s and 80s. I don’t live there anymore but try to get back to see family about once a year. The difference in the city is startling. I ask people how does Emanuel get elected mayor? They either think that he is OK or they don’t care.
They’ve got both what they ask for and what they deserve.
Cultural cleansing.
It is tragic when innocents get caught in the cross fire but when the bad guys kill each other, I cheer!
Numbers down. Must be due to Easter. Happy Easter everyone. I think that obviously with God in the minds of everyone, people have been nicer to each other. 7 is significantly less than 31 deaths just a short time ago. I know small victories.
Did all the Chicago JBTs make it home safely this weekend?
