Dozens of customers at a Del Taco restaurant in Santa Paula were mistakenly charged thousands of dollars for their fast-food tacos, drinks and other menu items.

One customer said he was charged $4,050 for one CrunchTada Pizza and two beef tacos, according to the Associated Press. The meal should have cost less than $5.

This happened to me at a nice restaurant. They charged me $800 for an $80 meal, and they charged it three times. When I called to complain, the person was annoyed at me because he had to deal with it, and I had to wait 4 or 5 days for the charge to expire.

makes ya winder how it's even possible, they push the CrunchTada Pizza button once and the beef taco button twice and the computer does the rest...

and now that you don't have to sign for anything under $50, so most people never look at the receipt

I would have pointed out to the annoyed person the fact that the police could get involved and treat this as fraud.

Note that coins are not serialized, but could contain your fingerprints.

Math seems to be a challenge for today’s youth. Have you ever bought something when the cash register is down? Oy Vey...it takes forever for them to figure out the change, so be prepared for the wait and the discussion..lol

That’s why I try to make it a point to pay cash when dining out, but I will admit to slacking on that and swiping the debit card over the past couple of weeks.

Didn’t know that Dell did pizza.

I use a credit card, so Del Taco, or whoever, can try this crap on me - but first, it WILL NOT affect my checking account (like a debit would), and second, I make a point of seeing what I am charged, BEFORE I walk out.

These days it makes more sense than ever to use cash.

Cash is almost dead.

Today, over three quarters of all transactions in the US are either via debit card, credit, or e-payment.

The government cannot track cash transactions. Cash allows tax avoidance on certain transactions. Cash is a primary spreader of bacteria and disease.

http://abcnews.go.com/Health/story?id=117433

The drug trade would shut down almost overnight if cash were eliminated. The governments of the world could enact a global tax on every e-transaction.

For all of the reasons, cash is almost dead. The Antichrist will not have to enact the antichrist system when he emerges, it will already be in place.

PAper cash is serialized. With tech these days, your face onthe video surveillance could easily be hooked up to a paper cash scanner to determine who passed which particular piece of paper. Scanning coins when proffered for finger prints is also possible.

Tracking you 24/7 when in public is but 10 years off, with the NSA storing ALL of the the info until the end of times.

I still prefer cash - it's faster and harder to track.

I always buy ammo with cash.

Years ago I had all our accounts at Wells Fargo Bank. I got mad at them and went down and closed everything out. We had a CC with them with about a $4k balance. I sent a check in for that and told them to cancel it. About 2 wks later I got a phone call from their fraud division wanting to know why I had a $4k credit on their card. I told them to figure it out and hung up. Apparently some idiot had credited the account twice for the check I had sent in. Eventually they reversed it and cancelled the card. Lol
