Busier'n a blind, one armed paper hanger balancing on one foot, stretched out 12 feet in the air hanging from the top rung of a ladder, precariously perched and thanking God for the opportunity
I've not forgotten all you good and wonderful folks and we ARE busier'n, ever.
A newer, bigger MH was purchased (16 X 70 replacing a 14 X 70) for $4500, (w/central air !), delivered to my pre-existing 14 X 76 ft concrete pad last week.
Got it up on blocks and am now working in between rain drops for the water/sewage line(s), and operating off my prepper generator
Learned a lot of what my responsability as owner for the re-connection of electricity and will probably be another week or two
Fortunately my Filipina wife LOVES the return to the days of yesteryear, cooking outside on a hollow block griil, fishing neighbor supplying fresh trout every day (his limit of six, he keeps 2, gives us 4)
We're having a ball in a "camping in" kind of a way and looking forward to the completion of this odyssey
This has been a news flash and we will now return you to you regularly scheduled program
God bless you all and thank you ... major report with pics in a month or two
PS ... computer may be sparse or non existent for the next week or so
(just on principle)
Well, you're certainly blessed in that regard. Most wives would be engaging in nonstop complaint. She's just rolling with it and finding joy where joy is to be found given the circumstance. Good on her.
Glad things are looking up for you.
I am always reminded that, after devastation — earthquake, hurricane, tornado, fire, flood, etc. — many areas come back better than they were before.
Sounds like you are making progress!
That’s wonderful knarf!
First I’ve heard of your fire. You’ll be in my prayers. Glad you’re making the best of a bad situation. God bless you and yours.
Looking forward to the pics. Thanks. Bless you.
Good to hear things are workin’ out for you.
I hear you! God provides.
I went three weeks without electricity after hurricane Wilma, and it was a very enlightening experience.
God Bless You, FRiend.
Congrats on your new home. Hope you put it to good use. Sorry about the old one but new memories are just waiting to be made.
One armed paper hangers hate jock itch.
And for those who are able to give, I'm sure financial assistance is still appreciated by Knarf and wife.
I’m happy to hear your news of progress! I hope you get all the help you need to get things put back the way they should be. Prayers, continue!
Hey, best to ya and I threw a little something into the kitty. Central air, eh? Lemons into lemonade.
I knew a guy who was a paper hanger. He was so good at it they sent him on a sabbatical to an exclusive California resort. San Quentin it was, I believe.
The MH had been delivered and stabilized on the pad but not blocked up, so the first thing I did was commandeer a neighbor Monday and get the thing up 2 blocks high.
After a week of trying to be productive in a constant on and off rain, I got the 220 side of my generator extensioned into my dryer plug, backfeeding the house.
unfortunately, my little 3500 watt isn't capable of doing anything to an all electric house except fire up the outlets and lights ... but THAT'S a heck of a lot better than tripping over three extension cords (using the 120 side) and breaking the bulbs in the lamps connected to the cords I trip over and listening to my wife accuse me of be old and clumsy
But I don't need to hear it from her
No phone yet because there's no electric service because I am forced to use Comcast (rural) and their modem needs electric, etc.
Sewage drain complete and I lifted the trailer another block high ( was 2, now 3 ) because it's easier for an old and clumsy man to maneuver under the house.
Got the plumbing for the well system figured out and ready for electric service (same thing .. little 3500 watt etc.)
( city trailer, never plumbed for a well) and waiting for the electric from the pole
Speaking of which, I got the existing service meter disconnect transferred from an older pole to a new, class 5 utility pole we installed two weeks ago, 4 ft in the ground cemented and hoping the elect company will approve my work and sign off on the re-installation of the meter (plug a new one in) ... trying to skirt (by grandfathering) the new FCC meters that tell the gummint what'cher' 'lectric usage is .... now THERE'S a prayer you can pray
Today is the first real nice day since last August and we returned to my son in law and daughter's house for a shower and clothes washing, do a little shopping visit DAD tomorrow to (again) praise and thank HIM for all HIS blessings.
We should be able to complete most of what we need to do to START to re-coup life next week and I can begin to replace all my tools I lost ( don't ask ... it's like losing both arms)
God is good and HIS faithful servants continue to be used
Will probably need help in transferring pics from my camera and cell phone to the internet but that is like SOOOO far down the line (in perspective)
God bless you all until next week's installment
(PS .. we REALLY do appreciate the continued support though not as dire as in the beginning . . . . not realizing until this how much is involved with just putting pieces back together ... Thank You All So Much !
I promise to be honest and say "stop" soon)
