At least 1,000 hospital patients are dying needlessly each month from dehydration and poor care by doctors and nurses, according to a NHS study.
The deaths from acute kidney injury could be prevented by simple steps such as nurses ensuring patients have enough to drink and doctors reviewing their medication, the researchers say.
Between 15,000 and 40,000 patients die annually because hospital staff fail to diagnose the treatable kidney problem, a figure that dwarfs the death toll from superbugs like MRSA.
The report comes less than a year after the NHS watchdog NICE was forced to issue guidelines on giving patients water after it found that 42,000 deaths a year could be avoided if staff ensured the sick were hydrated.

Water. That’s it. Pretty sad. 60%+ of the American population won’t pay attention and will fail to equate it to O-care. “We’ll do it better”. “This can’t happen to us”.
Just google "Liverpool Pathway Controversy" for details....
And don't forget that they use aborted babies to heat UK hospitals.
...just a preview of single player medicine.
And that’s not all,
At the rate we’re going it won’t be long before we in the USA surpass the NHS in every way.
Yes we can!
Can’t wait until “socialized medicine” debuts here in the US with fully unionized (SEIU) workers, furiously pouring over 8 thousand pages of work rules, before being able to make a move on a patient.
Wow, the NHS is expected to give their patients water? Who knew? Isn’t that rather costly?
Hey, some people live, some people die. It’s called “rational use of resources” people. Besides, if they were in the hospital already, they were going to die eventually.
If they want water so much, let them drink Gatorade.
When you recruit a sizable portion of your health care staff from third world nations and they mostly hate your guts you may not receive the finest level of care and caring.
Well do it better. This cant happen to us.
Any American who believes that after watching the launch of ObamaCare deserves to die by the grasping hands of Big Government.
