Four policemen were taken into custody after the 34-year-old woman filed a complaint saying she had been raped in the police headquarters overnight Tuesday.
Two of the members of the elite BRI unit that fights gang crime were charged overnight, a source close to the investigation said, after the other two were released on Saturday.
The interior ministry said Sunday that three of the men had been suspended, including one who was released but who was not charged.
According to judicial officials, the woman met the officers during a night of heavy drinking at an Irish pub frequented by many police from the headquarters, which is widely known by its address: 36, Quai des Orfevres.

Well, yes, in a manner of speaking.
I guess it sounds better in French though.
Poodles are German dogs, that is, smart. They don't do bar hopping. I think.
What did he (the victim) look like?
It must be a challenge, for some, to evaluate this story. On the one hand, he believes a woman who gets drunk and goes to a private location with men has, obviously, consented to sex. On the other hand, he detests police.

I smell a rat. Something is wrong here. Unfortunately, nearly every Canadian woman I know up here wears pantyhose. Sad, but true.
And I plead guilty on that, as there is insufficient evidence to make a judgment on either side.
Certainly more information will be forthcoming. But my instinct is this will go nowhere as far as charges are concerned against the cops, for two reasons:
1) Gendarmes are Gendarmes, cops are cops, Bobbies are Bobbies, they all stick together. I don't think there will be sufficient evidence to disprove their story.
2) Awaking in jail and knowing you have just been... (well you know) often has a very sobering effect. (so I have been told).
Nah, it's just a Frenchman without deodorant.......
Hasn't that word, "elite," just about run its course?
