Former Malaysian PM lays blame on Boeing for MH370 disappearance
The Guardian ^ | April 27, 2014 | Lindsay Murdoch

Malaysia’s former prime minister Mahathir Mohamad has questioned whether flight MH370 crashed into the southern Indian Ocean and has blamed Boeing, the plane’s maker, for its disappearance.

Dr Mahathir, who maintains a powerful influence in his country’s ruling party, also suggested the reason why the passengers and crew never acted to stop whatever was happening on board was because they were “somehow incapacitated".

“Even if the pilot wants to commit suicide, the co-pilot and the cabin crew would not allow him to do so without trying something,” he said.

“But no one, not even the passengers, did anything.”

Writing in an opinion piece, Dr Mahathir questioned why no debris or oil slick from the plane has been found.

“Can it be that the plane remained intact on crashing and sank with no trace and no one launching the lifeboat doors, as we are told all these aircraft are equipped with?” he asked.

“Can one believe this plane quietly floated down into the raging sea and sank conveniently in the deepest part (seven miles deep) of the Indian Ocean?”

Dr Mahathir said it must have taken some effort if the pilot, Zaharie Ahmad Shah, disabled the plane’s communication system.

“The co-pilot would notice and for his own life he would have tried to do something … was he disabled? Were all the crew members and the passengers disabled?”...

“The loss of the plane is due to the makers, Boeing. How can Boeing produce a plane that is so easily disabled?” ....

“Boeing must accept responsibility for building an aircraft that can disappear in mid-air so completely,” he said.

Boeing has not responded to Dr Mahathir's comments which were first published in his personal blog and then republished in several Malaysian news outlets...

He must have been a trial lawyer before becoming a politician.

What I was thinking...

“...never acted to stop whatever was happening on board was because they were “somehow incapacitated”.

So Boeing is responsible for “whatever” and “somehow”.

What a card!

Yep — as former PM he would be close to the investigation and while trying to blame Boeing, look at what he is admitting:

1] the pilot did it

2] neither the co-pilot nor crew nor passengers were able to stop it

3] the only part of the plane that was disabled was the communication system

So if they managed to jack an A380 he would blame Airbus? I think he expects an American company to throw money his was for silence.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad:

“MAS is not at fault, lax security or not. MAS flew a plane fully expecting it to perform the task. But the plane has somehow behaved differently. Who is responsible? Not MAS but certainly the makers of the plane — Boeing”

The insurance carriers for MAS are on the hook for over $2 Bilion in possible payouts if it is determined that their pilot hijacked the aircraft and their incompetence allowed it to happen unimpeded.

That’s why they are trying to find a way to blame Boeing but to no avail. This shows their desperation —

Mr. Prime Minister of the Malays must walk carefully as Boeing could drop a 777 on his head at any time such is the power imbalance between Boeing and Malaysia. Boeing didn't get to be so big playing nicey nice, not that they don't produce the best commercial airplanes flying, they do.

Your comment reminds me of:

From the movie, “As good as it gets”, the young female receptionist asks Nicholson a question.

“How do you write women so well?”

Nicholson:

“I think of a man and I take away reason and accountability.”

The 777 has an outstanding safety record in terms of number of flight, number of passengers and number of miles. For years it’s been the workhorse of international travel. It’s not impossible that mechanical failure was a factor but I believe it’s unlikely.

Mahathir is a Malay supremacist. In addition to Chinese and non Muslims, he hates Americans with a passion. He’s been around for years with a history of successful hate mongering.

Sounds like his brain is somehow incapacitated.

They’re nasty muzzies, and muzzies see (or at least blame) conspiracies everywhere. When that Egyptian pilot crashed that plane into the ocean ten years or so ago, everyone knew what happened, but the muzzie turds in charge said that it was impossible because (get this) suicide is against the muzzie faith.

If they can’t find the plane, then there’s no proof that it crashed. Hence, they won’t have to pay any claims.
