Paul Simon and wife Edie Brickell were both arrested and charged with disorderly conduct on Saturday night, April 26, after an apparent domestic dispute, according to New Canaan Police.
A call to police about the incident at the couples New Canaan house was made about 8 p.m. Saturday night, police said. But details over what were not immediately released. New Canaan Police hold a weekly press briefing with local media late each Monday morning.
Simon and Brickell, who have been married for more than 20 years, have lived in New Canaan with their three children for years. New Canaan Police did not want to release their address. Neither of their names are listed in the town tax records; but their house is in the northern section of town.
They both were scheduled to appear in Norwalk Superior Court on Monday morning at 10 a.m.

The honeymoon is over.
The Paul Simon?
Waiting for details before I pass judgment.
The arrest report documents that they were shouting “Betty!” and “Al!” at each other when police arrived.
Peace, love, and my face is bleeding.
Paul Simon is 72. Wow. I am getting old.
Did he try to choke her in the shallow water?
It wasn't even Edie's band. Label wanted the name change to highlight her.
Is it too early to start those rumors?
Eh.....the last one sounded better in my head.

“we’re not aware of too many things, we know what we know if you know what we mean...”
Better get out the back, Jack.
Take it on the lam, Sam......
The argument was whether “What I am” originated with her or with Popeye.
And though hes not overly vocal about his views, he isnt completely out of the game either. Hes a lifelong Democrat, supporting such Democrats through history as Michael Dukakis and Hillary Clinton and, over the years, giving over $49,000 to Democrats and Democrat support organizations.9
Hes been fairly vocal about universal health care, particularly when it comes to health care for children. Simon even appeared and spoke at a press conference alongside some of the countrys highest-ranking Democrats in favor of state-sponsored health care for kids.10
Too bad they couldn’t work in the word “singer” or something, so that we would know who or what they were talking about.
Sometimes the media seems to think that we are all just like their social circle, and already share their personal interests.
Looks like Paul Simon is honoring DiMaggio in deed now as well as in song.

There must be 50 ways to leave your lover and enjoy the sounds of silence as you cross the bridge over troubled waters...............
Did she shoot him with a rubber band?
Not the greatest. but when you layer the 'Graceland' album on top of his other works, certainly one of the greatest.
Yes, yes you are.
Were there pictures? in Kodachrome?...............

I bet he wasn’t feelin’ groovy....................
A better take on it, one of their most often quoted;
Starts at 9:22 in the video
Edie finally figured out what Paul was doing with Julio down by the schoolyard
Paul Simon was married to Carrie Fisher
A nutter marriage.
was there a new version of that more recently?
Don’t leave Carrie Fisher at the alter.
Was thinking that very thing - scrolled through the thread to see who beat me to it. No pun intended.
Every time Paul Simon comes on the radio I feel as though I might channel John Belushi descending the frat house stairs in Animal House.
Simpering girlie boy makes me wanna puke.
If she gets bail, is the mother child reunion only a (court) motion away?

Still Crazy After All These Years
“Did she shoot him with a rubber band?”
Well, does he still qualify as a star?
Every 80’s song, every single one, is torture because every song has been played to death. Right now the radio at the office where I work is playing Once in a Lifetime by Talking Heads. Who could possibly want to hear that song one more time? Then there’s those mumbling 90’s songs. Why did mumbling become the thing in the 90’s?
“Me and Edie Down By The Schoolyard”?
I’ll have two fried chickens and a coke!
Sounds to me like a bridge over troubled waters.
Yep, they could be talking about the deceased Illinois senator for all we know. I guess they are so used to dropping political affiliation for democrats, that they forget the identifiers for everybody now . . . except conservatives.
Well, there’s always Mrs. Robinson . . .
