Homeschooling --(5 minute arguments)

"Our son was in the 6th grade at a public school in Florida. An envious female employee at my wife's job called our sons school and represented herself as my wife. Over the phone she had our son transferred to another school and we knew nothing about it. Until I got the call at my office telling me our son had been out processed and I could come pick him up.

Let that sink in for a moment and put yourself in my place. I trusted this place with the most valuable thing I will ever own. If the envious employee had a mind to she could have had anyone pick up our son.

I laid rubber all the way to the school and into the principals office ...and got in his face. I never seen such terror on a grown mans face ever. He literally begged me to let him make things right. I came within millimeters of beating his a^^ right on the spot.

I took our son home and never again did he attend public school."

"Our son is 35 years old now, completed his high school 1 year early, completed a 4 year degree in 3 years and has been working as an advanced computer programmer responsible for the Tampa division of the New York Times website and recently started his own business and in 2 months he and his wife are giving us our first grandchild. We couldn't be more proud.

Question of the day: Why do the public schools take 12 years to teach things that take 2 years to learn?

Roll that around upstairs for awhile.

(most people use the public school system as a free daycare center)

Good story

“Why do the public schools take 12 years to teach things that take 2 years to learn?”

Because the other 10 years is consumed in bureaucracy and frivolous testing?

It takes 10 years of indoctrination to form little liberals....

Why does it seem strange to me that the son, whose parents were so careful to protect from liberal brain-washing, is working for the New York Times. What’s wrong with this picture?

‘most people use the public school system as a free daycare center)’

There you go. It all began when school busses began making the rounds. Now it is early morning until evening.

But my school is different...a refrain we hear so often.

It used to be parents attacked us for homeschooling....no socials skill, blah, blah. Now they apologize for not homeschooling their kids.

What a difference a track record of success makes.

I think homeschooling is the only thing that can potentially change this country away from becoming a despotic nation (we are certainly there already in some states).

I hear ya! If I was inspired when I went to high school I would have had a bachelor’s degree at age 18! “You can’t do that!” is what people think! Why not?...to give some losers jobs?

“I think homeschooling is the only thing that can potentially change this country”

That’s racist.

I went to a private Lutheran school K-8. Public Highschool 9th grade to 12th was merely a repeat of Grades 7 and 8 for me.

I rank it up there as the smartest thing my parents did. Sending 5 kids through private school. I wonder how they afforded it.

I like the idea of private home schooling but I don’t think there are sufficient enough parents who have the time and commitment for such a task.

Like anything else, somebody will find a way to abuse it.

I had someone the other day telling me how much they regretted intentionally buying a house in a certain neighborhood so they could send their kids to THE best public school in the area.
Drugs, immorality, brutal competition, cliques, bullying, etc.

That was my instant thought, too.

Also, why did the principal who took the phone call from an illicit “mother” not check the phone number with an address and then call the REAL parents?

And don't forget redistricting!

“I like the idea of private home schooling but I don’t think there are sufficient enough parents who have the time and commitment for such a task.”

Exactly, the single mother crowd and those too uneducated to educate their own kids will cry discrimination.

And we know that those two groups are populated heavily with Holder’s people.

If you only got two years’ worth of learning out of school, you got ripped off.
