I tried to giveadamn, but botched it.
The tree is outside of the walls of the Jail and the public was invited to witness justice administered. A good teaching moment for the youth of the community.
Don’t they have any good large-animal veteriarians out there?
The fallout from this incident is going to sidetrack executions in this country for a LONG time. Perhaps forever.
The old gallows at Ft. Smith operated for two decades, sent over 200 perps to meet their maker, brought commerce into the town and turned it from one of the most lawless places on the frontier in 1880 to a nice quiet little town of church goers by 1900. There was not one botched hanging on record. You just need a hangman who knows what he’s doing.
There is a Facebook group for that. Seriously.
A four-time felon, Lockett was convicted of shooting 19-year-old Stephanie Neiman with a sawed-off shotgun and watching as two accomplices buried her alive in rural Kay County in 1999 after Neiman and a friend arrived at a home the men were robbing.
All I can say for him is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
This would deflate the “I can't happen to me hubris of the young thugocracy.
Or this at $.53 per foot. https://www.knotandrope.com/store/pc/3-4-Manila-3p6.htm#.U2EhELt5vlI
He was “straining to lift his head” and “breathing heavily”.
Hmmm. Wonder if his victims “breathed heavily” while they were being brutally murdered.
He is dead, and facing a final judge. This is a good thing.
I have never been comfortable with the idea of lethal injection, whose purpose seems to be to maintain the decorum of execution, not be aesthetically unpleasing to witnesses, and to look “sanitary” and “painless”.
Practically speaking, most forms of execution, to include hanging, the gas chamber, and the electric chair, all have the potential to go wrong. Only one way, the firing squad, is simple, inexpensive, very reliable, and is unknown in modern practice to fail or injure without killing.
Oddly enough, execution by firing squad is legal in Oklahoma, but only if lethal injection and electrocution have been declared unconstitutional.
They euthanize animals all the time with zero trouble.
I watched one and the dog merely went to ‘sleep’. No twitching, no movement at all.
I can’t understand an execution w/ drugs being a problem. Someone is choosing the wrong drugs or it’s being deliberate to increase support for stopping executions altogether.

Yes, when I had to put my cat down, I was holding her, she was purring, the Vet asked if I was ready, I nodded, purring stopped, Vet said “I will leave you alone” and that was it.
And She had done nothing wrong to anyone....
That is much to good for a no good SOB.
I will ‘worry’ about how much ‘trouble’ some SOB like the one in this thread goes through to ‘pay for his crimes’ along about the time I decide to go on a crime spree and gunning down innocent bystanders.
Put them in a small chamber and release Freon Gas into the chamber. It is actually a powerful anesthetic and will put you to sleep and as the concentration builds up, the heart will go into a fatal arrhythmia. Game over.
NEXT!
Good! The s.o.b. and his accomplice hogtied an innocent family of four and murdered them for a partly amount of money. Then he deliberately threw the drop table off by strengthening his neck muscles prior to his well-deserved hanging. Am I supposed to feel sorry for him?
