Why is this and why can’t we all just get along? The truth of the matter is that we (the human race) just aren’t as civilized as we would like to think we are. Our species, Homo-sapiens-sapiens, isn’t that long “out of the trees” and the veneer of civilization is very thin, to non-existent, upon us all. We’re all carrying the genes that got us here and some of those genes carry a very basic survival instinct that has allowed us to survive thus far.

I am curious to know what, if any, punitive “disciplining” action was taken or being considered by this district for the bus drivers “inaction”, “ignoring a crime in progress”, obfuscating and obstruction of justice, interfering with an investigation, by not even bothering to report the assault...

As of my last hearing of the current situation, nothing has been said about that issue.

What isn't being mentioned in ay of the discussions here is that - first of all these kids attend an "alternative" school, which back in the day was known as reform school, so not even the victim is some kind of perfect angel.

One kid has been arrested and the other 4 attackers (including the kid who took the video) have all been identified. The first one arrested was turned in by his mother. Has appalled as she was by what happened, she then claimed it was provoked because of things the victim said. Sorry - words are different than fists.

I lived in the area for 21 years, and my husband and his sisters grew up in the area and attended the public schools in the district - this is nothing new. Dover, Delaware has been a powder keg of racial tension for decades, it just wasn't quite so open 25 years ago. As bad as it was when we left 11 years ago, it has gotten worse in the ensuing years.

If the white boy had beat on the three black boys he would be guilty of racism and charged with a hate crime.

The white boy will still be charged with a hate crime - his "white privilege" provoked the righteous anger of the black youths, who were just there fighting their oppressor for "social justice." You see how easy it is to be a White House speech writer these days?
