So have you checked out “Turn” as a stand in for the Walking dead?

I really like the show. Very patriotic.

Yep, I’m enjoying “Turn.” It’s recording now.

I almost went through the roof last week when Abraham told his wife to keep shut about his father and the gravestones, and she spilled it at that damn quilting bee.

They issued the Dunmore proclamation at the start of this episode. Notice the British freed only the slaves on the patriot side and allowed loyalists to keep theirs.

Christopher Walken as Han Solo would have been AWESOME!

“Luke...This light saber was in your daddy’s hand when he was cut down in the Clone Wars. He was captured, put in a Imperial prison camp. He knew that if the Clones ever saw the light saber, they’d confiscate it, take it away. The way your dad looked at it, this light saber was your birthright. He’d be damned if any Clone’s gonna’ put his greasy replicated hands on his boy’s birthright. So he hid it, in one place he knew he could hide something: his ass. Five long years he wore this light saber, up his ass.”

The show isn’t perfect history but they’re holding firm with the history of the wider story.

For instance, the Dunmore proclamation was issued a year before the show is taking place and the Woodhulls don’t appear to have ever been loyalists.

He was 58 in that. He is 71 now.

Well, well. Dunmore was genuinely concerned about the situation of the slaves. /S

I’ll watch for that when I see tonight’s episode. I’m hoping “TURN” does well enough in the ratings to get renewed for next season.

That’s fine with me. I’m not a stickler for perfect adherence to history when it comes to period movies/shows. I don’t mind a bit of dramatic license or monkeying with the details. I can read a book to get the gist of those.

I keep pimping the show.

Robert Rogers was one of the bad guys but a rather fascinating guy if you check out his history. He managed to get charged with treason by both sides.
