These 19 Companies Failed So Hard At Naming Their Food. LOL…These Are Just Wrong.

For global companies, it’s important to plan product names well enough so embarrassing typos can be avoided. Unfortunately, these companies didn’t think their foodstuff names all the way through, so some vital pieces got lost in translation.

Who know that so many languages could get food names confused with the word “rape?”

I’m old. I admit it. But I remember Aids diet candy. It was very popular here in the US.

I saw what I assumed was a Japanese fashion label on a shirt once that was amusing. Fancy Pimple. I think they just like the way the letters look and possibly the way the words sound, with no clue what they mean.

Yes, it came out in the 70s and was very successful until the other AIDS overtook it. The manufacturers had recently sold it to some bigger conglomerate which first tried to repackage the candy under a different name then just stopped making it.

The Canadians can as well. Saskatchewan was known for years as the "Land of Rape and Honey", rape being 'rapeseed' aka mustard.
