Trayvon Martin Foundation To Host Summit For Mothers Who Have Lost Children to Gun Violence

The Trayvon Martin Foundation will host a two-day healing retreat for mothers who have experienced gun violence.

The “Circle of Mothers Empowerment Retreat,” spearheaded Sybrina Fulton will be held in Weston, Florida from May 16-18 and will include workshops, empowerment seminars, and keynote speeches by influencers including rapper Tupac Shakur‘s mother Afeni Shakur.

Fulton is inviting all mothers, not just African-Americans, who have lost a child. “The loss of a child is unbearable,” she said in a statement. “The goal of this retreat is to gather together women, who like myself have experienced every mother’s nightmare.”

Both Shakur and Fulton have lost sons very publicly and have transformed their loss into social change. Both hope this weekend will help mothers by giving them the tools to “take the progressive steps forward towards healing,” said Fulton.

My heart goes out to mothers who were innocent victims, not thugs like Martin.

It should be for victims of black violence, not perpetrators of it.

Host one called “Victim of Democrat Violence”, you could pack the Rose Bowl.

I hope every one realizes that this Trayvon Martin “foundation” is simply a way for Sybrina Fulton to have money to pay her travel and other expenses and also to place her on salary for her “services.

This farce is being held at the Bonaventure Resort & Spa. The place is given good marks at tripadvisor, mediocre at Yelp. I can’t imagine what sort of high-end location would want to associate with this type of thing.

It’s not gun violence,it’s people to people violence.A gun is an inanimate object, has no mind or will of it’s own.

Most of them have been killed by black gang-bangers.

Sybrina Fulton did not raise Trayvon full time past the age of 2.

She and her estranged husband/boyfriend, have consistently been in the media, presenting themselves as a couple, and presenting their lives as having been an intact family, in which they were raising their son.

In fact, Trayvon was raised in a variety of ad hoc arrangements. This mother, while she may feel grief, cannot feel the same grief as a mother who actually raised her children. Sorry, if this sounds heartless, so be it.

Based on the Martin case, and how this has been portrayed by the liberals, the media, and the race baiters, you would swear that the biggest threat to young black men was a White Hispanic neighborhood watch volunteer.

In fact, by far, the biggest threat to young black men are other black men with guns. But, why let the facts get in the way of the liberal narrative which has been constructed?

She didn’t lose a child to violent people. She lost a child due to his propensity for violence.

I would love to see financial statements from this foundation. It would be interesting to see who donates, what the expenses are, and who the salaried employees/directors are.

Indeed I have to wonder whose idea it in fact was to try to trademark her son’s name? I suspect an Al Sharpton might figure prominently in that stunt.

“She lost a child due to his propensity for violence.”
She may have lost a child due to her poor parenting skills, but she’s not prepared to even consider that possibility.

Bonaventure is practically out in the middle of the Everglades. One of the only good things about Ft. Lauderdale is that it has a decent beach (though you have to pay to park).

If you’re not near the beach in Ft. Lauderdale (or on Las Olinas), then you might as well be in Ocala.
