Report: Just 2.4 Million HealthCare.gov Customers Paid Their First Premium
http://dailycaller.com/ ^ | 05/3/2014 | n/a

Just 67 percent of Obamacare enrollees in federally-run marketplaces had paid their premiums by April 15, bringing the federally-run Obamacare enrollment tally to only 2.45 million, according to documents provided to the House Energy and Commerce Committee.

The Obama administration has been heavily promoting that 8 million Americans selected plans on Obamacare marketplaces, but has refused to release any data on how many purchased their plans.

The 67 percent payment rate as of April 15 is markedly lower than the 80-85 percent that experts have predicted will end up paying their premiums. April 30 is the final day for most federal exchange customers to make their payments.

Of those who have paid their premiums, just 25 percent fall within the highly desired young invincible range from age 18 to 34 — drastically lower than the administration’s minimum goal of 39 percent needed to avoid premium hikes next year.

“In a sad reversal away from its vows of transparency, the Obama administration, from inside the Oval Office on down, has gone to extraordinary lengths to keep basic details of the health care law from the public,” said Michigan Republican Rep. Fred Upton, chairman of the committee. “Tired of receiving incomplete pictures of enrollment in the health care law, we went right to the source and found that the administration’s recent declarations of success may be unfounded.”

The Obama administration has been touting exchanges’ 8 million sign-ups far and wide, but have come under fire for refusing to release any data on the number of Americans that have actually paid for their health care plans.

2.4 paid their premium. Now tell me the total amount paid into this “self sustaining” system.

The Problem (as stated by Obama in 2008):
47 million Americans lack health insurance.

The Solution (as implemented by Obama):
$1B web site.
Control 1/6 of the US economy
Deprive 50 million Americans of their existing health insurance.
Stifle business growth as small companies fear the costs of growth.

The Result (as reported here):
2.4 million Americans covered.

Follow-on:
Big Media Party. Open bar. New dress for Michelle.

You KNEW this was going to be the case. This thing is an UTTER DISASTER for America’s Economy, and the Healthcare System.

Little wonder the Administration didn’t want to tell us how many actually PAID.

If you take note of this inconvenient truth, are you a racist??

This is the ‘drop out’ of the people who enroll by putting something in their ‘shopping cart’ and then have buyer’s remorse when they get to the check out and see the premiums.

You may see another drop out group when the young invincibles decide they’d rather buy some makeup or go to a rave instead of paying their monthly bills.

Over many years as an insurance salesman for health policies I found that there is a very high drop out rate for individuals who have to pay their own premiums.

Of course the penalty tax for not having a policy will replace some of the necessary income to sustain this giant program, but it won’t be enough unless the penalties become draconian—and they are collected.

Once you start down that road, the invincibles are going to be very upset.

And I bet the 1B cost doesn’t include such things as Oregon’s complete disaster...around 300M I think.

Then there is the cost of subsidies and almost everyone paying more for less, and the job costs of hiring freezes by employers.

And how many have actually whipped out that ObamaCare card and received treatment for their ills???

Lets see how many of these people actually sustain their premium payments in the next month or so...

I bet the numbers will decline dramatically...

I would like to see the percentages after the 4th or 5th premium due dates come around. I bet it will be a lot lower.

And how many of the 2.45 million could get a doctor and actually receive any care? It’s FAR FEWER than 2.45 million from all the horror stories I’ve been reading. Then we can discuss their outrageous out of pocket costs for co-pays.

Communism sucks.

The Solution (as implemented by Obama):
* $1B web site.
* Control 1/6 of the US economy
* Deprive 50 million Americans of their existing health insurance.
* Stifle business growth as small companies fear the costs of growth.

...and add...
* Triple premiums for those who buy government insurance
* Triple copays for those who by government insurance
* Pay doctors less than they are worth, thus driving doctors out of business so nobody gets care
* Shrink the size of your coverage area so you can’t travel more than 50 miles from home and be covered

Proclaim success.
