Target’s massive data breach has now cost the company's CEO his job.

Target announced Monday that Chairman, President and CEO Gregg Steinhafel is out nearly five months after the retailer disclosed the breach, which has hurt its reputation among customers and has derailed its business. […]

Steinhafel’s tenure has been tested with many challenges, from a weak economy to a proxy fight. The company, known for its cheap chic clothing and home decor, has seen uneven sales since the recession ended and has battled a perception that its prices aren’t as low as its rivals. …

It ain't a perception....10 minutes of cross-checking in Wally World will take care of that.

Target is the Whole Foods of discount stores - yuppies need a place to shop for basics, too.

No doubt the will still get tens of millions for leaving. Not exactly a bad termination.

Here in Indiana, Target is definitely more expensive than WM, but also far more cleaner, quieter, and more organized and a less bizarre clientele on average.

I can see the appeal for a lot of folks. For me, Target is 10 miles farther away so I rarely make the trip. Also as a retiree I’m able to hit WM at the slack period of the day, at 9am it’s quite uncrowded.

“. . .uneven sales since the recession ended. . .”

Typical AP and their usual effort to push the RAT party line. . .

I prefer Target simply because, on any given weekend, I don’t expect to be subjected to some woman in shorts with her urostomy bag strapped to her ankle.

Does this mean they’re going to get heterosexual buyers for their men’s clothing now?

I like our local Target stores. They are clean and usually well stocked and neat. The clientele is also a bit higher in class than Walmart’s, although that would not keep me away from WM. Just that I like Target better.

Target suffers too many radical left wingers in control of their company.

About a decade ago, they didn’t really carry Thanksgiving items.

They have kept Salvation Army Kettle people off their property.

They have been big donors to the Rat Party for a long time.

After saying the above, Target has hired some good local helpful store people versus the “We don’t have X, when X was two aisles away.” The new people carry an inventory gun and will go into their store room to get a product if it wasn’t on the shelves.

We have two Targets in our town. When you enter one, you may be the only English speakers in the store. My wife jokes that we should carry a passport to get out of the store and back to our car.

The other is cleaner and English is the dominant language. If you shop there, you don’t want to be there after 3 pm when hordes of teenagers leave school to troll in the local shopping center and that Target.

Agreed. Hard for me to find any sympathy for someone that gets huge bonuses yearly & probably a golden parachute to go away.
