An Abu Dhabi criminal court sentenced an Asian housemaid to stoning to death after she was found guilty of committing adultery while married.
The maid had been rushed to hospital following abdominal pains and tests showed she was pregnant after sleeping with another man.
Newspapers said the maid confessed in court that she committed adultery and the judge handed down the sentence on the basis of her confession in line with Islamic law.
It was the first time in many years that a person was sentenced to stoning to death in such a case in the UAE. Judicial sources said the maid can appeal the sentence.
I noticed the nationality of the maid was left out.
Filipina?
The religion of peace is so gentle and peaceful.
Probably Ethiopian or Filipina. It’s also likely she was raped, as opposed to willingly sleep with an Arab.
So, are they going to let her give birth and kill her, or kill her while she is pregnant? Also, what happens to the other side of adultery (the penis side)?
Why anyone would want to go work in these places is beyond me.

Having traveled in that part of the world my guess would be...Pakistan,Bangladesh,India or the Philippines.

Having traveled in the UAE and India I can confirm that as bad as things would be for these people in the UAE they're better off...*much* better off...than they'd be back home,certainly financially.It would take time to explain but it's somewhat similar to Mexicans illegally coming to the US.Their life is usually difficult (by our standards) but not nearly as difficult as in Mexico.The UAE *is* the moslem world's United States.The difference being that the typical Pakistani/Indian/Philippine has a genuine work permit for the UAE...not that that makes their lives particularly good.
To call her Asian doesn't really make sense, since the UAE is in Asia.
But he would not feel so all alone.....

Just curious, Obama was very against the death penalty death in Oklahoma, I wonder how he feels about this case?
I’ve been to the philippines, I get how they live, especially in some of the overcrowded cities, but I still can’t imagine wanting to work in a moslem country, especially given that they see what the moslems do back home.
I would guess Indonesian, they are usually the maids, the Filipinas work in the shops as they have good English skills. The poor Indonesian girls get the dirty work and given that they are Muslims can be subject to shariah law.
