I had a former student who was really involved in Democrat politics and worked tirelessly on Murray's campaign. In a candid moment, he told me that she was really "dumb as a post." So I asked him why he wanted her elected. He told me that she'll just do what she is told by leadership.

I suspect Kerry is saying these things to draw a comparison between the terrorists of Boko Haram and the terrorists in the Republican Party. After all, Tea Partiers don’t want to spend money on health care of building schools, either.
