It looks like Cupid has traded in his arrow for a brown UPS uniform.
Terry Spiers, a UPS deliveryman, played matchmaker on his Crown Heights route earlier this year and two of the lovebirds he introduced got engaged this month.
It began two years ago when Spiers got to know Regina Simon, an education nonprofit staffer whose Eastern Parkway office was a frequent stop on his delivery route. Simon began telling Spiers about her 21-year-old daughter, Chana, and he told her he knew a guy who would be a great match.
The guy, Zev Goldin, 25, lives two blocks away, works in real estate and has a wonderful family, Spiers told Simon.
At the same time, he was trying to convince Goldin and his parents to give Chana a chance.
Initially, we didnt take it very seriously, Goldin recalled.
But Spiers would not be deterred.
He got a major assist when another Simon family member randomly recommended Goldin as a potential match for Chana, who is studying psychology at Touro College. Spiers then helped the families exchange shidduch resumes, matchmaking profiles, detailing everything from family history to religious level.
After a traditional first date in the lobby of a hotel, Goldin says he was quickly smitten.
The second date I knew, but I waited a very, very long time to make sure, he said, noting the two dated for several months, lengthier than the typical few weeks in the insular Orthodox community.
Spiers was eager to get updates on the courtship.
He asked a million and a half questions," said Goldin, who bumped into him after proposing.
Now, the 28-year UPS veteran is kvelling.
All he was hoping was that hed make one shidduch before he retires, said Goldin, referring to the Yiddish term for a match. The nuptials are set for June 2.
The couple went for the package deal....mazel tov!

the driver happens to be a black guy, which makes it all the more charming in a “don’t you love NYC” sense.

"Whoever finds a wife finds a good thing, and obtains favor of the LORD."Proverbs 18:22
"Who can find a virtuous woman? for her price is far above rubies."Proverbs 31:10
Epilogue: The Wife of Noble Character
10 A wife of noble character who can find?
She is worth far more than rubies.
11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.
12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.
13 She selects wool and flax
and works with eager hands.
14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.
15 She gets up while it is still night;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her female servants.
16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.
17 She sets about her work vigorously;
her arms are strong for her tasks.
18 She sees that her trading is profitable,
and her lamp does not go out at night.
19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers.
20 She opens her arms to the poor
and extends her hands to the needy.
21 When it snows, she has no fear for her household;
for all of them are clothed in scarlet.
22 She makes coverings for her bed;
she is clothed in fine linen and purple.
23 Her husband is respected at the city gate,
where he takes his seat among the elders of the land.
24 She makes linen garments and sells them,
and supplies the merchants with sashes.
25 She is clothed with strength and dignity;
she can laugh at the days to come.
26 She speaks with wisdom,
and faithful instruction is on her tongue.
27 She watches over the affairs of her household
and does not eat the bread of idleness.
28 Her children arise and call her blessed;
her husband also, and he praises her:
29 Many women do noble things,
but you surpass them all.
30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting;
but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.
31 Honor her for all that her hands have done,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

("We mutually pledge to each other our lives, our fortunes and our sacred honor.")
Jewish husbands always prais their wives by reading to them that passage. Like the Western saying has it, “happy wife, happy life.” Remind her always why you married her and your household will be blessed.
